Yes I do recommend it and at least every two years. The anti-corrosion properties start to weaken and the coolant becomes less effective after 2-3 years. Changing it prolongs the life of your engine. Check you owner's manual for the appropriate maintenance schedule.

Use the new extended life antifreeze that is what the factory put in the car, change it every 60,000 miles, replace the hoses at the same time.

When topping up my mini cooper do i put anti freeze in the radiator or just water and then top the expansion tank with anti freeze

Hi.

For a little top up simply use antifreeze.

If you need to do a coolant bleed and refill, then depends on the antifreeze you are using. Most products require filling the coolant tank with water and then topping up with 50% antifreeze. Use distilled water. Tap water is mineral and helps corrosion.

Regards.

Ginko.

I just changed the radiator. How much antifreeze do I put in?

put a 50/50 mix. remove radiator cap when cold, start car let run 1 min and dump 50/50 mix till full, a little will come out cap when thermostat opens this is normal, when thermostat opens coolant will go down, continue to fill till full, put cap on and fill reservoir to cold mark, check reservoir after you run a day and fill if needed to the full cold mark again

What kind of anti freeze do i use for 2000 grand cherokee 6 cyclinder

You must use a 50/50 blend of ethylene-glycol and low mineral content water. This is the ideal solution for Jeep Grand Cherokees within your year. Don't use all water or all antifreeze. You can also use Mopar 5 year antifreeze available at your dealer but it cannot be combined with any other type of anti-freeze so your old anti-freeze will need to be flushed out.

Antifreez type 1991 volvo? 4cyl

Volvo would like you to believe you need their o.e.m. and pricey anti-freeze to keep your cooling system from falling apart. NOT! Any good quality anti-freeze will perform well. Just be sure to mix it 50-50 with water when adding or changing, or using the 50-50 premix that's sold ready to use. More expensive because you're paying anti-freeze prices for water! I have used off-the-shelf anti-freeze in all my Volvos, which run 300,000 miles or more. You can extend the life of your radiator, water ump etc, but flushing the system every year or so, draining off the old coolant and adding a fresh mix.

What happen when antifreeze is pull into your oil

Gonna guess on this one....

If you put anti-freeze in your oil....YOU NEED TO DO AN OIL CHANGE!!!!!

If anti-freeze is showing up IN your oil....then you have a bad head gasket or a cracked cylinder head.

Does this cover your question?
