Why does my jeep wrangler tj when i put the 4h the front tires walks one tire rotation walk and then they stop and then continue like this everytime it walks just on 4h not on 4L? What is wrong?

TJ what year,, be nice to know year.
i guess this is a 4wd question,
and you are running part time 4wd, and does not work on pavement, it is NOT AWD, all wheel drive.
its only FOR, offroad, or driving on ICE< , ONLY
so first tell us what tires are touching>?
dirt
Ice
or pavement.
here are the words in your missing operators guide
http://jeepdied.com/4WD-DAMAGE.txt
see YJ comments here on command-trac 4wd
http://jeepdied.com/4WD.html
here is what happens
if you do it wrong.
the damage, and why.

your car has no center differential or the slip clutch
to better understand, look at rear of transfer case
see that tag, it tells you which system you have
?
The NP207 transfer case was used only for 1987 and replaced by the NP231.(got 231?)

What fuse is for the lights on the dash for 4 wheel drive on a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X?

so the light is dead. 4wd
shoe drops, is 4wd dead?
that be first.
after all the light can just burn out and is useless anyway
what matters is does it work.

the fsm covers the wiring and all that.
TJ

http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/TJ/2005_TJ_FSM.pdf

this is it.
all 1600 page.s

did you do the lamp self test yet cluster test
http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/jeeps.html#cluster

if you read the schematic
you will see the Cluster is a stand alone display with the CAN-BUS network , so if the cluster test passes above , all this is good
the transfer case closes a switch. for 4wd
but the 4wd light is and execption, it is hard wired from the switch to the cluster, seen on page 729(pdf) of the chapter 8w wiring .
so if the self test passes
then the transmission is not getting in to 4wd or the switch is bad
that is why I asked, is 4wd working?

1992 jeep wrangler 5 speed 4 cylinder shifts has

won't, not want , right?
the xfr case rear tail shaft is dead.
the 5speed box , must be in gear, is it, did you confirm it , by checking the 5speed, shifter bottom linkage that it really is in gear, did you try all 5 gears?
that be first , then see if the transfer case fails.
same way. same tests.

your post is a contradiction.
if the input to the xfr spins, the output must too, in 2wd mode. (both)
if not the xfr case has issues.
or simple linkage.

When hitting a bump the vehicle begins to vibrate and must be slowed almost to a stop to regain control

Sounds like it needs a new steering stabilzer. It is like a shock absorber for the steering linkage.

O99 jeep grand cherokee 4wd low does not work

This jeep is all wheeldrive and has a lever to go from 4high and 4low,first take a look at the transfer case linkage to make sure linkage is connected and not broken or frozen, alot of times the linkage freezes up from lack of use and sometimes bends or breaks so look at that first. if the linkage is good and no problem with it then we go on to the transfer case, take note that bent linkage will make it not go into 4low, okay the next step will need the transfer case to be checked for a inside bent fork or broken fork this will need to be done by a shop. the case needs to be removed and opened up to check the shift fork. good luck, hope this is helpful.johnjohn2_64.gif

2001 Jeep Wrangler 4" suspension lift

Jeep's transfer case output is poor for lifts over 2-3 inches. A transfer case drop should have come with your 4 inch lift, but if not you should be able to purchase it from quadratec.com or 4wd.com. You shouldn't drop it much more than an inch, since engine will be rotated into your firewall, besides, transfer case drop reduces ground clearance. The spacers go between your frame and you transfer case skid plate. A transfer case shift linkage bracket is also required to maintain its alignment. Then if it starts making noise, the dealer has a TSB parts kit to fix that. A better solution is a Slip Yoke Eliminator and extended rear driveshaft, but you'd be looking at about $450 and a days worth of work. Good luck.

89 wrangler do I need a new transfer case?

Sounds a lot like a linkage adjustment problem. Check transfer case linkage and adjust as necessary to get proper engagement. If you can't move lever on case, there may be an internal problem, but I've found that a good percentage of problems are with the linkage itself.
Check this out before getting too worried about unit. Also... make sure lube in case is in good condition and properly filled.
