It could be anything at all that is electrical or sensor-related in nature. Your car is an OBD2 car (for emissions), and it's a very strictly-controlled system. As a result, pretty much anything that fails will cause the light to come on and will store a code in the computer. Go to AutoZone and ask them to scan your computer for codes - they'll do it for free, where a dealer will hit you for up to an hour's labor. They'll tell you the fault codes, which will point you in the right direction for the fix. Get the codes that come out of the scan and post them as a reply here and we can go from there.

There are many different reasons why this warning indicator comes on, you will need to go to a garage, dealer, or parts store to have a hand held computer hooked up to your vehicle (it plugs in under the dashboard). This computer (code reader) will search your cars computer to reveal what malfunction codes have been stored, and provide a read out. If u go to a parts store, it is usually a free service. They can explain what the codes mean and give u advice. good luck, countrycurt0

1997 honda accord tranmission problem code p0700 drive 4 flashes

Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory.
This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module.

Symptoms Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include:
  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination
  • The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc.
Causes More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely).
Possible Solutions For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission.
If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself.

How to reset malfunction indicator lamp on honda accord

You need to hook up your diagnostic tool to the connector beneath your steering, read the error code and look for its its meaning in a Honda Error code book.
or

disconnect your battery terminals, allow 10 minutes and then reconnect, that should clear the check light. if the check light comes on again, it implies that the reason for the fault is yet to be cleared.

The D4 light is flashing in my 2006 Honda Accord. What could be the cause?

D4 light indicates some sort of malfunction or needed service for the auto transmission. Take the vehicle to a shop where it can be scanned, and see what error code comes up.

I have malfunction indicator lamp on how i can fix that

go to autozne and have them do free engine computer scan. They will tell you fault codes.

Or, try disconnecting the battery for 1/2 hour. Then reconnect and drive 10 miles. It may have fixed itself already.
MIL light on is not a big issue. only if flashing
