What the little black box next to the brain box is for
There is to units one with a two or three pin and the other either about 4pins they are located next to the brain panel on the floor what r they for what the uses
Re: what the little black box next to the brain box is...
If you mean next to the ECU then you may be talking about the transmission computer. If you mean under the radio and they are blue and grey, they are for getting check engine light codes. there is no such thing as a brain box so i dont really know what you are talking about.

the service manual covers all this. (SM or FSM)
1995 is a huge changes year, here (USA) just before majors
july1,1995 for the EPA, OBD2 mandate
soon or now the TCM is moved inside the ECM and is rnamed PCM
that does both Tcm and ECM functions.all.
power train module
so I will read your SM, and answer.
but this car is not sold in USA, so no manuals for it.
so your car data only exists in you country.
1993 to 2005 made , yours 1995
learn first that cars ARE NOT the same in all countries for vast reasons, SMOG laws and DOT laws and more.
so posting with out the country makes answers inpossible NO engine told and transmission match engines for torque max rules(physics) wiki tells me 3 engine. world wide. Petrol:
2.4 L KA24S/KA24E I4
Diesel:
2.7 L TD27Ti/TD27ETi I4-T
3.0 L ZD30DDTi I4-T
most diesel have there own kind of transmission A/T
due to the huge torque they can do.
the service manual (buy it)_will have chapter for all transmissions used, on that car. and in that chapter a TCM told if there is one at all
some cars use NONE and is called pure Hydramatic trans.
may cars here in USA had no TCM at all 1995 vast cars.
just 1 wire TCC lockup feature and pure hydramatic brains
and posted with no problem told just a scavenger hunts posted here endless.
no country told
no drive line told , engine and transmission make and model.
EYES ON:
or search the car with eyes.
at transmission find all wired connectors! and count pins.
if you see 7 more pins it has TCM if not NOT of 4pins
3 solenoids need at least 4 pins work more. solA, SolB and tcc-sold.
if only near1 or 2 pins that is TCC lockup box only and NO TCM
if see see it has 3 solenoids or more it has TCC
and the wires have colors, and we can look at the PCM first
to all those color wires if lands on the PCM if not there is a hidden TCM .. 3 or more sol pins is TCM where it we search .
now I answered how to solve this 2 ways
Eyes ON, or buy the SM
the oldest TCM had flash blink codes, to see TCM errors.
for sure this car, if is a real Ebox. xyz-E.
I don't know the answer to your question but there are three usual locations - the A pillar, the B pillar or buried inside the door catch.
Considering the age of the car it is likely to be fully computerised and likely there is a single switch telling the brain the door is closed and the brain then controls all the functions. It is a common practice these days for a single black box to control all the timing functions including the courtesy light function.
I suggest you research your car further, perhaps by looking at a wiring diagram.
the number on the pcm has to match and you will need to swap the eprom out from the old one to the new one. open the unit and you will see a rectangular eprom simply lift it out and make sure it gose back in the same direction usually a small white dot in one corner to indicate pin 1
if you are looking for the engine temp switch(sending unit,
it is located on the engine next to the large coolant hose (the hose
that is not attached to the pump) on the engine. Just a little above and
to the passenger side of the vehicle
If your 2010 Ridgeline is the same as the 2009, the wires colors and location are listed below;
Power Lock pink/black - MICU, green 30 pin plug, pin 25 The MICU (Multiplex Integrated Control Unit) is part of the dash fuse box, in the driver kick. It has 2 plugs on the left side edge of the fuse box. Meter this wire while pressing the passenger door lock switch. Power Unlock pink/blue - MICU, green 30 pin plug, pin 9 The MICU (Multiplex Integrated Control Unit) is part of the dash fuse box, in the driver kick. It has 2 plugs on the left side edge of the fuse box. Meter this wire while pressing the passenger door lock switch.
this is a fairly simple job. The location of the unit varies within the same year make and model. Take your vin number and ask the local deal about recalls and -- where the location of you vehicle computer is - sometimes these are called brain boxes by dealers - - once located you will have little problem in removing and replacing the unit.
THREE LOCATIONS ONE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF DASH ON THE END,PULL LITLE COVER MAIN FUES PANEL IS UNDER HOOD NEAR BATTERY,BIG SQUARE BLACK COVER PULLS OFF, LAST ONE NEXT TO BRAKE PEDAL, BLACK COVER WITH SILVER NUT HOLDING IT ON(RELAYS ARE THERE)
first, remove the front black cover located next to the front grille. next, remove the black cover located on the left. the retainers can be removed by pushing down on pin located in the middle. once these are removed, you'll see a black box. this contains the air filter. it can be opened by pushing the metal clips outwards. lift the cover and you'll find the filter. most stores don't stock these filters so you'll probably need to order it.
