Re: dadge dAKOTA runs rough at idle
Sounds like brake booster is shot Clamp the brake booster rubber vacuum hose and see if that has any affect if it does the booster needs to be replaced.use a g clamp or similar.if you drive to test be aware that you will have to push very hard on the brake pedal to make them work. Also check for an engine vaccum leak

First, have codes read to narrow possible causes. clean Idle air control valve or replace. TPS failure or "dead spots" send wrong signals to ECM. A blocked cat., low fuel or pressure, O2 sensor bad, sparkplug and wires faulty are some of many reasons.
Hello I have a 1995 Sonoma 4.3 with 150.000 on her and she ran great tell last week went to pick up a lite trailer and dove it home no problem drove it all day after that. The parked it running fine and next morning it won't hold a idle but clears up at 3000 RPM runs fine drop in gear and it won't stay running??? Cleaned TBI and there was a new fuel pump and filter put on it less them 7.000 miles ago. Found vacuum leak on the booster to manifold fix that still runs like it is misfiring??? Any help would be great thanks no check engine light on.
Jeep has been having a problem with this. i take it u have a 4.7L or a 3.7L. when the when to fix this problem they should of replaced all the valves (intake and exhaust). theres a tsb on this and the dealer can look it up. even if you paid for the service they will fix it for free cuz it wasn't fixed the first time. take it back to the them and tell the to read the tsb and fix it right.
