All vehicles regardless of breed and fuel system are adjustable, your vehicle could also have a vacuum related problem.Maybe you need to go to the library and do some reading up on your particular model of car.

Not quite everything is fine.
Is the check engine light on ?
When you push on the gas pedal, does the engine speed change ?
Can you rev up the engine in park ?
What have you checked so far ?

2001 buick park ave high idle

First thing i would do is take the idle air control valve off and clean the carbon off of it and inside the throttle body using a non-chlronated brake cleaner. Then reset the computer with a code reader or a scan tool then start it and if problem still exists take the mass air flow sensor off and spray the thin wires inside the sensor with the same brake cleaner then let it dry for 15 minutes and re-install.Reset computer then start motor.

1991 buick park avenue starts when gas petal is pressed but dies once you let off gas petal

There could be several causes for this problem but from your description it sounds as if you car is not getting enough gas. This could be caused by a plugged fuel filter. Another cause could be a fuel pressure sensor. General Motors has had a lot problems with this in the past. One quick way to find the problem is to have the vehicle hooked up to an analyzer and see what code is displayed. The cost of this is usually around $65 or slightly higher in some areas plus the cost of the parts. If it is a fuel filter the part is relatively cheap. Analyzer prices are higher. Make sure your mechanic quotes you a price before having it repaired and also ask him for the code number from the analyzer. This will usually keep him honest.

Go out in AM, car is cold, starts and runs fine. Drive short distance, stop and restart, runs fine, idles fine. Drive about 8 miles at 50-55 mph, pull up at a red light, when speed gets down to ~25-30...

The EGR valve is unserviceable which causes a bad or insufficient fuel control for em-missions......Hope this helps you out........EGR valves are not very expensive.

I have a 1991 Buick Park Avenue. Runs rough in

Here are the common cause of surges, cold stalls, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours.
To correct this problem I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

1993 park avenue idles high after warming up for a bit, the car has been sitting for a little more than a year and now that winter is almost over I started it for the first time in 4 months. Fired right up...

try redexe petrol additive.could be carbon buildup.when you take to the highway do not use heavy acceleration, but build up speed gradually..could also be sticky throttle cable.....
