Give truck gas losses power and speed

When i start the truck up it idles normally but radles from underneith the truck as i put the truck into gear it still radles. As i give the truck gas the rpms run regular it just seems to be losing torque and does not pick up speed as its supposed to. i have a few ideas as what it might be such as the transmition, cadilac converter, torque converter or maybe even just a bad sensor. please give me insight as what you think it might be..

Possibly the timing chain has jumped a tooth or two. Or the timing is off all together needs a timing light test done on it.

Looses power under a load put in neutral give gas runs good

sound like fuel filter stopped up.if you have distributor type engine your idle speed could be too low and ignition timing off a little.

How can you tell if a clutch is slipping?

Loss of power, you step on the gas but the truck has a hard time picking up speed, also when you shift gears, it might start kicking or the shifting will get harder than normal. time for a new one.

1989 ford f150 loss of power

1989 is fuel injected, on the intake there is idle air control valve, make sure this is not dirty, also you may want to check the coolant temperature sensor, if the engine thinks it is warmer then waht it is the fuel air ratio will be off and your truck will run bad.

check your fuel pressure, should be 40lbs+ at idle. If you dont know how to do this, have a friend or a shop check it for you. I had same problem, no power at all would barely run ect,, turned out to be fuel pump.
