Have you tryed turning on the ignition and waiting a few (15 to 20) seconds before starting?...If the fuel pressure is "bleeding off" when the car sits, it may take a couple of seconds for it to build back up to normal.

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am gt.. i have to start it for about 10 seconds and shut it off then start it again for another 10 seconds i have to do that a few times before it starts. once it starts it...

i would start by taking off the oil filler cap to inspect it and also the oil dip stick to see if there is a white kindof color. if there is then suspect a blown intake gasket. these vehicles are notorious for blowing the intake manifold gaskets. if you find no white coloring in those areas, then try this. first try turning the key over to on for a few seconds( do not start vehicle) just turn it on. then turn it back off for a few seconds. do this for 3 or 4 times in a row then try starting the vehice. if it starts then suspect a weakened fuel pump. if neither of these help, then please repost and i will try father to assist you.

I don't know if this will work for you, but you might want to try what works for other vehicles turn the ignition key to the run position not start push down on the gas pedal three times slow then turn off the key. Again, this works for several other GM vehicles, hopefully it works for yours.
