Hiya to access the bulb on high level b/light with hatch back up you will see the shroud/cover surrounding the lamp ? this cover is a clip on to remove it just hold the cover on both side/ends and pull/slide the cover down keeping against the screen it is easy ! and you will see the clips and where they clip on? the actual bulb is removed by twist anti clockwise the socket and pull out of lamp the bulb is a larger version of the push in type bulbs as fitted to small sidelamp front bulbs on most cars be sure to replace the bulb with correct type ie 16 WATT refit new bulb and check operation before you refit cover/shroud ps now would be a good time to clean rear screen area not accessable with the cover in position ?? best wishes

My additional brake light is not working i have tested the brake unit and that works is there a seperate fuse for this or is it all on one fuse for all the brake lights

The third or High Mounted Brake Light runs straight off the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. You say you tested the "brake unit"? I assume you mean the third brake light assembly, and if you get power there when someone steps on the brake pedal, then the bulbs are bad.

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, no one ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch, hope this helps!

No brake lights changed bulbs and fuses

Does the brake light in the rear window work? If so, the brake light switch is good. Running lights all work?

Rear break light will not go on but rear window break light will

could be the light itself, the red brake wire that comes off the rear brake lights that feeds this stop light, sometimes things get shoved against this wire and its cut,or if it splits off in the frame,it could also be broken here too

Fuse problems on hyundia lantra 1999

are the rear lights combined? ie sidelamp and brake lamp in one bulb .if so, there is a possibility that the bulb is not sitting correctly in the holder , causing both the side & brake lamp fuses to blow . if they are seperate bulbs you probably have ashort in the sidelamp system somewhere but the brakes could be a switch problem [easy check, find switch ,disconnect wires short across using wire or paperclip switch on ignition and check lights ] if they work the switch is the problem , [check fuse first] if they don't
