When driving on highway the engine starts to run very rough and then the trac off light comes on and the car dies. I cost it to a stop and then all my gauge lights come on. Shut the car off wait a few minutes and try to restart. Turns over very roughly and then finally restarts after a few tries. I have replaced gas filter, coil packs, plugs, boots, igination timing switch, air filter, and cat converter. Also no codes have come up and have put it on a recorder chip. The engine seems to run fine but did notice that when it happens my igination timing goes from 15 to 4 then to 0.

I doubt the problem is anything connected to the ABS.
Depending on the actual code, cylinder 3 could be a spark plug or coil problem, or compression problem. If the check engine light comes on, the trac off does too.
Sounds like a fouled O2 sensor. Dripping water from the tailpipe is caused by the Catalytic converter cooling and condensing, and is usually considered normal. Have someone rev the engine while you check the exhaust for flow at the tailpipe and it should push your hand back. If not, your exhaust pipe has a clog. This MAY be the cat, but can also be a rotted resonator.
i have the same problem, dealer says its the trac sensor on one of the front hubs . to fix the problem you have to replace the wheel bearing assembly. you cant buy just the sensor, dealer wants 400.00 do it yourself for 100.00 or less shop for parts on line or cover the light with black tape it will not hurt anything
I had this problem with my 1999 alero i took it apart and investigated it myself because i have been a mechanic for 25 years now but i had to replace the starter relay the whole ignition system and believe it or not new valves. After I replaced all of those my alero drove better then eer and the lights never went back on or any of the other lights....
