1999 Taurus SE - something is draining my battery. What is acceptable power consumption when car is turned off and locked? *No alarm

You shouldn't have anymore than 100 mA draining with all the doors closed and lights off. If you do, try pulling fuses one at a time with your ammeter connected and see which circuit kills the drain. This should give you an idea where to look.

TWO NEW BATTERIES HAVE RUN DOWN.CAR WILL NOT START..WHAT HAS HAPPENED ?????

Something is on and is draining the batteries. Find out what is on. Dome, brake, under hood, trunk, glove box, curtorsey, light, etc. Or you may have a relay sticking.

What is the CTSY Fuse? And why do I have a voltage drain in this circuit?

CTSY is the courtesy lamps, the lights that come on when you open the door. You have a drain because something on that circuit is not turning off or a wire may be rubbed bare. Start checking by removing the bulbs from the sockets to see if that kills the drain. If there is a light in the trunk or under the hood remove those too. This should stop the drain. Then replace them one at a time to see which one is the culprit. When you replace the hood and trunk ones make sure the lids are closed when you test. Otherwise you are looking for a chaffed wire somewhere. Hope this helps.
