Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix
A couple of days ago my service engine soon light came on, I thought maybe it needed some antifreeze/coolant which I put in and it did go out the day I added it but the following day my traction control button light came on and won't go off. I want to know if the engine light coming on and going off has anything to do with the traction control light? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
The service engine soon light would have nothing to do with the oil or the coolant. There are many things that can cause the SES to come on, and some of them will cause the traction off light (TRAC OFF) or similar to come on because the traction has been dissabled. You will need to have the check engine light codes scanned. There will be trouble codes stored in the computer. From there the problem would need to be diagnosed, problem repaired, then codes cleared. Here is site with a list of some typical trouvble codes......
