Power Windows and locks

How would a repair be made on a 1994 Lincoln Towncar rear power window if the window does not move and the motor can be heard spinning? Also the same thing with the locks.

Usually the regulator assy which is cable driven is broken if you hear the motor working but the glass doesn't move also if the lock runs or buzzes the lock actuator is bad

Power windows inoperable on left side of my 2002 Lincoln towncar Cartier (front and back). The rear window quit working first and then later the front.window quit. After several months they started...

The only thing that is in common with both of those windows is the Master Control Window Switch. (The switch panel on the driver's door) A failure of this switch could possibly be the problem, but it is not real likely that it would affect both windows, and only intermmitently. The more likely cause would be that the window motors on both doors are sticking. Try slamming the door fairly hard while someone is holding the switch. If the window starts working, replace the motor.

Is there any way to manually roll up a rear driver side window in a Lincoln Towncar 1999 when it will not go up by either controls?

Not really, there must be power to the motor, and the regulator must be in good shape.

If either is bad, it should be replaced. The window will be locked at its present position until the parts in the door are repaired or replaced.

Good luck on this repair.

My windows wont go down. i have checked the fuses under the hood but there are 4 little covered boxes that I don't know what they are

It is not uncommon for the window motor and regulator to go bad in a lincoln towncar. The regulator is revitted to the door.

I have a 1994 Lincoln towncar the driver window

better if you take it to a mechanic but if you really need to know you just take off the door panel then you take off the bolts then take off the electrical switch. once you recieve the new part you do these steps backwards..

I try to get the driver's door power window to move.

VERY COMMON PROBLEM... THE MOTOR ITS'SELF HAS A GEAR HEAD AS PART OF THE MOTOR ASSY...IN THE TOP GEAR ASSY.. YOU HAVE 3 LITTLE CAM GEARS THAT FALL TO PIECES... YOU CAN OPEN GEAR HOUSING AND INSTALL 3 NEW PIECES.. THE WINDOW GEAR KIT IS AVAILABLE AT PEP BOYS AND AUTOZONE AND SOME ADVANCES.... KIT LESS THAN TEN DOLLARS...IF YOU DON'T WANT THE HASSLE BY KNEW MOTOR ASSY

Left rear window won't go up unless i push it up. 1994 lincoln towncar. motor works. need diagram of inside door to see where it is getting stuck.

Your window is not getting stuck. The plastic gear parts in the window motor has crumbled OR the cable in the window regulator has broken.

Power Windows and locks

the problem is going to be the cable that connects the window tray to the motor. you can find after market kits that replace all of the components for much less than a stock replacement.

Power Windows and locks

If it does not work at all check the fuse first (check fuse and relay in any case).

If fuse is ok, test the wirings, from switch to fuse box, and from fuse box to motor.

If there is no power from switch to fusebox, replace switch.

If there is no power from switch to motor, check wirings and fuse, and eventually replace them.

If there is power to motor, check that the glass is not stuck , byu removing door panel, if the motor is not working replace it.

Regards.
