Good Evening. The airbag system in the Kia sedona is a little more technical than some others in the way that it will not go away with disconnecting the battery to clear the codes in the system. Not always does it mean there is a current problem with the system. The only way to know for sure is either call the dealer or call your local repair shops and ask if any of them have the ability to scan and read the airbag system codes. Once you know what the code is then you can start to diagnose the problem. I hope this helps.
You need a new clockspring. It is behind the steering wheel, at the top of the steering column. It has wires wound around it like a clock. You will need to disconnect the battery, remove the air bag, then the steering wheel, and the steering column trim. Unbolt it, and install in reverse order.
if the air bag stays on that means you have a problem with the air bag system, and you need to have it diagnose, but if you just bought the sedona from a used car dealer they have to fix it, it is part of the safety inspection requred by law
