Question about 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

1 Answer

HID lights I followed the instructions in the manual, but can not get to the bulb, please help. I had a headlight blow out and was taking my car into the shop for another reason and they replaced the bulbs. Now both have blown out at the same time. My highbeams still are working.

You may have a short if both have burned out and you have recently replaced one.
Other wise to remove the head light assembly---There are 2 screws under the hood above each light they have a combination slotted and nut head. Remove them, then push fingers between valance below light (its rubber) and "pull forward" assembley will pop out of headlight retaining snap. Pull head ligth as an assembly) Remove wire harness plug lower bottom. Turn light over to back, remove rubber outer seal cap, you can now look inside assembly and see back of light. You will see 2 retaining screws ( they are tork head style) loosen them just enough so you can twist the socket until it releases. Pull light out by wires, once out remove wiring plug from back of light bulb.
Be carefull here as there is a retaining plate between light and plug that needs to be reinstalled the same way it comes off, on the new bulb, transfer retaining plate to new light. Plug back into harness. (do not touch the light bulb surface, as oil from fingers will cause light to burn out!! Use rubbing alcohol to clean if you do touch it.) Using a pair of needle nose pliers to hold wires harness of plug, reinsert the light back into the housing (gently here) twist into place and tighten screws then reasemble in reverse of removal process..

Why don't my headlights work on my 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis?

Low Beam, and High Beam both are not working? There is a fuse you can check, review your owners manual for location, also could be headlight switch itself? Please check bulbs before expensive diagnosis...some times both bulbs blow out at the same time:( Hope this helps.

your owner manual in the glovecompartment will show you how to replace headlamp bulb, the auto parts stores sales person will help you, i have seen them help people remove replace car batteries, and wiper blades, they will help you replace headlight if you buy headlight bulb at their store,if you do it your self.be sure to wear clean gloves on your hands. your fingers and hands is not suppose to touch the headlight bulbs because halogen bulbs will blow out if oils on your fingers and hands touch the halogen bulb.

My wifes 92 883 keeps blowing headlights. First the low beam then the hi-beam. Is it the headlight relay shooting too many amps to the light?

Check the headlight lens for moisture in them, that blows bulbs. Do you touch the bulbs with your fingers when installing them? Don't do that, that blows bulbs. And no to many amps is not possible, but to many volts,is poss, have the charging system tested by a local Autozone or O'reilly auto parts, its is free, it could be to much voltage due to a alternator issue or wiring problems. Please rate my help for fixya..

Headlight bulb replacement

Surprisingly, your owners manual is one of the best sources for information on headlight replacement and taillight replacement. I learned this a few years ago myself, it's the only repair instruction they put in a automobile owners manual.

Replacing headlight bulb

AutoZone.com has lots of information like this. Unfortunately, they want engine size and other information I don't have before providing the information. Here's the link:

Also, check the owner's manual. I changed a headlight in a car last week and was surprised to find that the owner's manual had detailed instructions.
