Windsheild wipers on a 2003 GMC Savana van

I have a2003 GMC Savana cutaway van from time to time the windsheild wipers will not turn off after activated sometimes running for hours what could be my problem?

Hi the contacts in the switch would appear to be faulty if you can get to the switch try spraying the switch with wd40 or simular as if you can spray the contacts it may clean them if you want abit more positive diagnostic while wipers are working disconnect the wires from the switch when they won,t turn off if they continue to work check out the relay yates210456

GMC 2005 Savanna, running lights will not shut off even when the van is turned off. Switch was replaced but the lights are still on.


Interesting that this same problem has started with my 2005 GMC Savana.....they turn on by themselves and won't turn off.

cartrigde type is locted at the top of the crossmember just forward of the gas tank on driver side of the vehicle,,,,,,,,non cartradge type located on front of the fuel tank..

My 1999 gmc savana van turns over but does not


could be a bad fuel pump, or fuel pump relay. they are having problems(a lot) with the ethanol in the gas on GM products.Fuel pumps sales are through the roof at parts house on GM's. Have a pressure check on your fuel system. That is probably it. Add a can of Seafoam to your fuel every 3000 miles to alleviate this problem.

It could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. Also try replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires and having the timing checked. Good luck.
