Question about 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
I have a 93 Olds Cirea 3.3L with 110,000 miles. The problem I am having is the car will die suddenly, when this happens it is very hard to restart. I have tried to bleed off the fuel rail, when I do there is a lot of vapor and air trapped in the rail. I had a fuel leak at the tank and replaced the sending unit and the tank but the problem is still there. The engine temp seems to run in range, the fan has been replaced so it is in working order. I have looked for other leaks, but have not found any. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tested the fuel pressure with a guage? modern cars do not vapor lock, if the fuel pump is working correctly the fuel is constantly be cycled to the fuel rail and back to the tank, a closed loop, if you just get a spurt then the fuel pump is most likely failing, is it noisy, a loud humming when listening at the filler neck with the gas cap off?
