Error Code: P0221 Description:
Throttle Position (TP) Switch/Sensor B
Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Switch/Sensor B Range/Performance Problem Possible Cause:
- Accelerator cable adjustment.
- Throttle position (TP) switch/sensor .
- Accelerator pedal position (APP) switch/sensor.
- Check valve clearance, adjust if required.
First of all a scan tool is need for this not a code reader, you need to view scan data after you find what code is stored in the PCM. It could have a problem with the powertrain control module, wiring, or the
Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensors. Here are a few codes that could set .
DTC P2120: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1 Circuit
DTC P2122: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1 Circuit Low Voltage
DTC P2123: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1 Circuit High Voltage
DTC P2125: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 2 Circuit
DTC P2127: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 2 Circuit Low Voltage
DTC P2128: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage
DTC P2138: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 1-2 Correlation
That trouble code is faulting the accelerator pedal sensor. The APP sensors are located in a TAC module mounted to the accelerator pedal bracket. There are three individual APP sensors within the TAC module. Three separate signal circuits, low reference circuits, and 5v reference circuits are used to determine the accelerator pedal position. The APP sensor signal voltages increase when the accelerator pedal is depressed.
P2138 is Throttle Pedal Position Sensor/ Switch D / E Voltage Correlation. Replace the Throttle Pedal Position Sensor/Switch.Remember to have the set code Cleared from the cars computer, this will turn off the check engine light and reset it. Good Luck and have a good XMASS.
there is no adjustment on these tps's it's a drive by wire system. If you don't know the vehicle, dont post!
there's 2 sensors contained in the pedal sensor, and one on the throttle plate shaft, more often than not, it's the pedal sensor, and if you replaced that, it's the other one or a loose connection. did you reset the computer after replacing the pedal?
It should actually be an oil sending unit, and is located on the back of the intake manifold to the left of the distributor.
*The P0523 is Oil Pressure Sending Unit Voltage too high
*P1693 Generic fault indicating a fault in the bus or PCM/ECM interface
*P1682 - I can't find this code
I will post here all the error codes for future reference.
