Question about 2000 Nissan Quest

Nissan Quest 1999 Headlights

The front driver headlight sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I noticed moisture in the casing of the headlight.

Now, I am having the same problem on the passenger side. I notice that when either or light doesn't work, the blue light on the dashboard illuminates. Please let me know where to start checking. Thank you.

Check the dimmer wheel or knob. I do not have the specifics for this model just a general idea. Check fuses first with a test light. Let me know if I can help more. Thanks.

SOURCE: For 2009 Nissan Versa SL: Need to Disable Dashboard Lights

There may be a seperate fuse for that feature. The thing to try is find the fuse box. It is generally under the left hand side of the dash on thedriverside butthey have been known in some vehicles to be on the right hand side under the dash and even inside the glove compartment. There are some models that setup the fuse box under the hood as well. If you have an operating manual with your vehicle then the fuse box will be located in there.
Once you find the fuse box then try thist rick.
Locate instrument panel fuse. In this case there should be two with instrument panel listed but if not then it may be all in one fuse. What I woulddo is just turn thekey on so the lights you want off are shinning on so you can see them. Then one by one pull a fuse. If thelight stays on then replace the fuse back in the same spot you took it out of, Continue doing this one fuse at a time and replacing it back in the same spot until the dash lights go out. Then see what the fuse box says about that certain fuse and what all it operates. It may be that you can not disable the dash lights this way without disabling something else you need such as a blinker or heater or radio, but what I am hoping is it has its own seperate fuse. If you arenot sure what it operates by what it says onthe fuse box then once the fuse is out start the car and check all of your other lights including brake lights and blinkers and of course thedash lights that work when your head lights are on. Check all of yourother switch operated devices like the radio and windsheild wipers and heater. Anything that has a switch you can test. Remeber that you may have pulled the fuse that operates the dashlights but there still may be another fuse that operates the dashlights you want disabled, so if the fuse you puilled disabled stuff youneed then replace thefuse and keep pulling more until the dashlights go out again or you run out of fuses to pull. Remeber to turn the headlights back off while you arepulling more fuses. I hope this was helpful, Raz

Testimonial: "That's a great approach. However, my Versa has a minimal number of multi-purpose fuses - none of which refer to the dash cluster. Thanks, anyways!"

Where is the right headlamp relay located on a 1999 nissan quest

There is no headland rely.
The bulb is connect to the headlight switch then to the battery.

Take the right head light off and set your DMM to ohm to check the resistance of the low beam.
Open reading = bad bulb (MOST LIKELY CASE)
close reading = bad contact, switch or wiring (NO LIKELY)

Is there a reset button for the 99 Quest and if so where?

Not that I know of. Ford products have an inertia switch for the fuel system, but not for the electrical system.
The headlights would be on a different circuit from the key switch. Have you checked for power coming out of the battery and at the starter as well as the main fuses ?

Turn the key the my Nissan Quest 1996 and no starter action. Not even a click and the dash lights go from dim to dark. I also noticed that my headlights wont come on at all, however the interior lights...

I WOULD CHECK THE BATTERY CONNECTIONS, IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A LOOSE CONNECTION THERE, I WOULD TAKE THE TERMANALS OFF CLEAN THEM AND RECONNECT THEM, AND YOU CAN JUMP START THAT VEHICAL. I WOULD START THERE. SOMETIMES IF THE BATTERY HAS A DEAD CELL IT WILL DO THAT ALSO. AFTER YOU CLEAN THE TERMANALS PUT THE LIGHTS ON AND CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE IF IT GOES BELOW 10 VOLTS YOU HAVE A VERY WEAK BATTERY AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT, IF YOU HAVE AAA YOU CAN CALL FOR BATTERY SERVICE AND THEY WILL COME OUT TEST THE WHOLE SYSTEM STARTING,CHARGING,AND BATTERY. IF THE BATERY IS BAD THEY WILL REPLACE IN RIGHT THEN AND THERE. THE ONLY THING YOU PAY FOR IS THE BATTERY NO LABOR.

1999 ford taurus with moisture in the headlights

Most headlights lens are sealed up to prevent this problem. A broken seal or a crack somewhere opened up to let in moisture.
You can drill a small hole on the lowest part of the plastic headlight housing to let the water drain out. Or, replace the plastic headlight assembly with a new sealed one.The plastic headlights turn yellow and cloud up over time (not because of moisture inside, because it's plastic getting ruined by the weather and the sun). This problem reduces headlights from putting more light on the road.
The only thing you can do with moisture inside the headlights is to drain out the water that builds up. The seals on the headlights are bad right now and are going to keep letting moisture in. I would replace the both headlight assemblies for new sealed, clear ones.
