Next to the radiator is a plastic recovery jug. On the side of the jug are low and high marks to show you how much coolant to put in. This jug will have a small hose running to the radiator.

My 1997 Pontiac grand prix FTP low coolant light wont stop flashing what's wrong

You most likely have a low coolant sensor that is defective, it is a common problem on all GM cars. The sensor is held in with a clip in the side tank of the radiator.

I have 2 problems 1. my low coolent light keeps flashing an staying on its full of fluid an 2. good battery in car changed altinator an now the battery wont hold a charge what could the problem be

The switch in the coolant tank that turns the light on can stick due to contamination from old coolant.Replace this switch,or leave it disconnected. If your battery drains overnight, there is likely a draw, possibly trunk ot glove box light on.If the problem started when the alternator was replaced,it could be a shorted diode in the alternator.

I need a error code solution for a 2000 pontiac grand prix gtp daytona 500 pace car replica. I have the check engine light on and i asked advanced auto to give me the code, it said something like coolant...

DTC P1117 Engine Coolant Temp. Signal INTERMITTANT.

Usually it means LOW - but for GM that code means intermittant.

You already replaced the probe with no change - now it is time to check the actual wiring for bare spots, cracks, etc.

Check for ground continuity for each wire. There is a loose or corroded connection somewhere, and you'll have to find it to get rid of this CEL.

I got a 1997 pontiac grand prix gtp coupe. the low coolant light constantly flashes. the coolant fluids are full. i just bought it and i am a little frustrated.

Sometimes the float in the low coolant sensor gets stuck.Find where the electrical connector is on the overflow tank and lightly tap on this area. This might dislodge it,if its stuck.Good Luck!!!
