You have to get new gaskets like head gasket, valve cover gasket, water pump gasket. You'll need an alternator, if it has a/c you'll need an a/c compressor; you'll need a serpentine belt.

How to change a chevy crate motor 350/330hpfrom electrical fuel pump to a manual fuel pump

In order to change your fuel pump you have to remove as much gas as possible before removing your fuel tank, then unbolt the fuel pump cover then disconnect the fuel lines and replace the pump. With the proper tools its a DIY job.

I have a 1976 buick regal 350 engine and the oil light comes on when the engine gets hot and it is at an idle. when you give it gas the light goes out. could this be the oil sending unit and if so where is...

it might be the sending unit, is it a buick 350 or a chevy. 350? if a buick engine the sinding unit should be on the side of the timing cover if a chevy 350 next to the dist.

remove the oil sinding unit and install a manuel gauge and see just what the oil pressure is if below 10 psi at hot idle replace the bearings and oil pump in the engine. if this is a chevy 350 make sure you replace the camshaft bearings this is were we use to see the gratest oil pressure loss.

When making a swap like that, the car tells you where things need to be so that they don't interfere with anything. What I'd do is go to a local scrapyard and take everything off another 350 that looks like it will work in what you are putting it into. As you remove the parts, take pictures and make notes of where everything goes. In doing that, you will have all the bolts, brackets and spacers to put it on your engine. Chevy engines are good like that as they are drilled and tapped to interchange. There were no 350's in '49 so you will never find an original setup.

What engine size do i have? chevy 1968 c10 vin

Check this website and double check your vin number to see if its correct. That way you can determine what you have for your engine sixze. If your engiune number had CE at the very beginning it would be a replacement Crate Engine. Yours is not a crate engine replacement as far as I can tell from the numbers you posted

On the chevy small block v8 the numbers will be on the left side of the engine look for a small step right at the head / block mating area. The numbers will be in the form of a ser# get that number and call a good chevy dealer and they can tell what engine you got. But any small block chevy crate engine will be a 350 or a 305. they will act the same as far as tune up and any vacuum hoses to the carb or trans. They interchange of a sort.

1986 ford ranger that is running very rich

If you have fuel in your oil, your piston rings are bad. Get a compression tester from your local auto parts store and do a compression test on each piston. If compression drops, then my theory is confirmed. The only repair is rebuilding the engine, or buying a new engine. Replacing rings is very intensive work. It's easier to simply purchase a crate motor.
