I had the same problem and started with replacing the battery. Now the car only starts when I prime the ignition three times. I have had the starter checked and alternator checked. When I asked about the fuel injection I was told that it either works or it doesn't. Does anyone know what this might be??

Bought new dist. and that wasnt the problem. Heard it may have soemthing to do with the Anti-Theft system. Any truth in that and if there is, what do I need to do? If not, what could be causing this problem

I have just changed a battery in my car and on ignition the flashing word "code" came up on the radio screen. I have the code, but do not have the instruction on how to enter it. I have a manual for a 626, but the radio is different in this manual so that's useless. I have tried pushing the same buttons as suggested, but that does not work either!!

    Any suggestions?

Check the Fuel injection system (injectors) and the intake manifold. It might also be wise to check the alternator as well as the starter coil and also the electronic distributor

If it is a four cylinder it is very common for the distributor to die

on the 6 cylinder models it is common for the pick up for the dissy to die

check for spar if no spark you will need one of the above mentioned

check connection to cam sensor. sometimes corrosion will cause a poor electrical connection. clean as needed. otherwise you may have to replace the sensor.

sounds like the head or head gasket is blown. your cylinders may be getting coolant in them which will not only cause the motor to lockup, but also cause bent rods and valves. check your oil dipstick and transmission dipstick to see if it looks like water or coolant is presant, also check the coolant to see if it smells like gas or has any kind of oil in it, if so, your head is likely blown.

1998 mitsubishi mirage wont start?

check if the fuel pump is working, if you have someone near the tank and someone else crank motor you should be able to hear a bzzzzzz rom the tank from the pump. if no noise is heard then hit or thump the tank, this can make a fuel pump start to work again, if it starts, then the pump is almost dead

1991 Mazda 626 DX dies suddenly after running for 10 minutes.

Hello, It sounds like an engine ignition control module gone out or a coil. They get hot and quit working after a short period of time, cool off then work again till they get hot.
Is the ignition system pointless electronic or does it have points? Are you getting any fire at all now to the cylinders? Does the tach in the vehicle show any RPM's during cranking? Do you have voltage at the positive side of the ignition coil? Does the coil meet the ohm ratings for that years vehicle ignition? Does the vehicle have oil in it so the oil pressure sensor allows the engine to run, this may not be an option on your particular vehicle? You can check most of this out with a volt/ohm meter. Check your voltages before starting the vehicle, during running and after it quits to see where the loss is. Just don't get near the center tap of the coil or you will get a rude awakening and/or serious injury. Good luck, RAC

Either one of your cables isn't getting a good enought contact on the battery or solenoid, or the solenoid is bad, or relay for starter is bad.
