On the rear disk calipers, the manual calls for a special tool to twist the piston clockwise to seat it. You can use a pair of needle nose pliers carefully to do the same thing. You can't push it in directly like other calipers.

Brake pedal goes to the floor only when engine is running.

Hi Alicia, how is your brake fluid?Usually just changing front brake shoes requires no bleeding since the brake line was not open, how were your brakes before you changed the pads,if fluid is low, maybe back wheel cylinders are leaking.Front calibers could be bad,or even master cylinder, need more info.

How do I change the rear wheel cylinders on a 2003 dodge neon stx? any help would be greatly appreciated....

There will be two bolts on the back of the wheel cylinder that secure it to the backing plate.
- Remove the drums and all brake components obstructing the removal of the wheel cylinders.
- Remove the brake lines going into the back of the wheel cylinders, use plenty of spray lube, and work with the fittings on the lines gently, you may have to warm them with a torch to avoid damage if they are frozen.
- Replace wheel cylinders, re-connect brake lines
- Re-assemble rear brake components
- Bleed air from brake system
-Done!

How do i change the brake cylinders on the back drums? its leaking braking fluid and what should i se to re-seal the usnroof

Hi:
You can buy complete rear brake cylinders, and while you have everything apart to change them, you probaby need to replace the drum brake pads, if they have fluid on them. use a line wrench to undo the brake line on the back of the cylinder to avoid rounding off the fitting.

How to change back brakes? I can't get the brake cylinder to go in.

Do you mean back brake pads or the back brake callipers?
To change pads you need to use a rear brake pads changing tool to screw in the calliper piston or if you are experienced enough you could screw in the calliper with a two mm thick piece of metal sheeting that fits into the grove of the piston.
If you need to replace the whole calliper remove the hand brake cable first and clamp the flexible brake hose remove brake hose, remove the callier with cylinder and then remove the calliper holder. fit new holder pads and locks and the calliper with the piston and the brake hose and the hand brake cable. Bleed the brakes. Mike

1999 honda accord ex v6

The back brakes on my Honda Accord are disc brakes. After removing the brake cylinder assembly you will see the brake cylinder piston end has a slot in it. The short pin on the back side of the inner brake pad fits into this slot, but also it is used to 'Turn' (clock-wise) the piston back into the cylinder so you fit the assembly back over the new 'thicker' pads. You can not 'press' this piston back into the cylinder.
