heated seats dont work. where is the fuse- relay switch?

  • readmybook Nov 02, 2008

On my 1999 LHS the passenger heated seat works fine while the drivers side seat doesn't heat up or turn on ( light on switch doesn't go on either.) I figured if one works the fuse must be ok but someone said the grid on the drivers side must be broken. What do you think?

Most likely the relay has failed, check this first.

you need to check the valve on the in lines to the heater in between the engine to the wall off under the window. there is to pipe follow them and you will probably find a vale these can seized up and stop working some models have a vacuum pipe on them that opened the valve when the heater is needed.

I could see one or two modules going out at the same time, however, you speak of a lot more than that happening all at the same time; which makes me think that the ECM or "Brain"/Computer in your car has probably out lived itself. I would start with having your ECM reset to see if that might cure it. If not, then you will have to replace the ECM. Typically on any vehicle with that many miles on, your going to experience more problems then the car is worth.

My heated seats went out, and was wondering if it was a fuse and where is this fuse located in the fuse panel?

What you are sitting on is a 9 year old toaster. Toasters draw current, if you do not believe me hold the wire on your kitchen toaster when using it. Current causes heat and heating and cooling destroys parts. If the fuse is blown replacing it will just result in another blown fuse due to the high current. There is probably a small circuit breaker built into the seat itself, I would look there or see if you cannot buy a new replacement toaster from the dealer and have it installed, I imagine that means new seats though. These things never work for too long due to their nature.

Rear strut install

I have a 1999 Chrysler LHS and have had the rear struts done for me. You have to remove the back seats to get at them. I know its not the total solution, but it should put things in a better perspective for you.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

fix the radiator first.because coolant temperature sensor need to be in antifreeze.when antifreeze get up to 190 degrees. the coolant sensor act as a thermostat.it resistance decrease then the pcm will command cooling fans to run.if antifreeze low the coolant temperature sensor not going to work. engine is going to over heat.

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

I had the same problem. My Chrysler LHS kept overheating. I had the thermostat changed out first and it didn't help. Then I had the water pump changed out and still did no good. Then changed out the radiator, still overheated. Come to find out the people that changed my thermostat put it in backwards. Evidently, the thermostats for these cars look different from all the others and people are not sure how to put them in. I took mine to a Chrysler dealer and they fixed it for me.
