All you have to do is move it back and forth while you're pulling on it. It might take a minute or so. The metal part should come off with it.

I got a 2003 grand Prix 3.1 engine. the digonistic read P301 on the machine. can you please explain what does that mean

P0301 indicates that there is a misfire on the number one cylinder.

This would be the back cylinder on the drivers side. Some common causes would be a bad spark plug or a bad spark plug wire. Checking the plug and the wire would be a good first step.

Removing Plug Wires from '02 Pontiac Grand Prix, 3.8 Liter V6

often times the connection inside the plug boot gets corroded and it's almost impossible to remove the wires with out damage. when this happens I gennerally replace the wires anyway this saves you problems in the long run . the sparkplug wire removalk pliers are a good investment however they are only as good if the boots themselves are not siezed up on the plugs. I have had this happen alot over the 20 years i been working on vehicles. I usually just twist and pull on the boots till they come off and not worry about damaging them because they should get replaced anyway the new plug wires have a antiseize lubricant to keep from this happening in the future

What is the spark plug order for a 1999 Pontiac grand prix

I would recommend that you replace the plug wires at the same time because the boots usually break when you remove them and with the engine rotated forward they are easier to get at.
When re-installing the new plugs, it is important to make sure you get several turns on the plug before putting a wrench on it. The last thing you want to do is cross thread a spark plug. The new plugs should almost bottom out before requiring a wrench.

Does the crank sensor send the spark to the spark plug and can i fix this? this is for a 98' pontiac gran prix

yes the crank sensor sends a signal to the computer to fire the plug through the ignition control module which then fires the coil.

Anyone know the spark plug gap on a 1998 Grand Prix gtp? Is it .060?

Yes. On a stock 98 no less than .055" nor greater than .060", is acceptable.

1999 grand prix gt 3.8v 6 error codes 300 and 302

The PO300 code is random/multiple cylinder misfire detected. Sinsc you have the code PO302, that means that cylinder 2 is the one misfiring, usually a bad coil pack, or spark plug.

96 grand prix se engine problems

Your problem may be a faulty (shorted) ignition coil housing assembly (the white plastic cover housing the coils its bolted to the aluminum cover) change that along with the spark plug boots ( the boots are optional but I recommend it) that should get your Grand Prix running smooth. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help

How to change back spark plug on 3.1

I used to have a Pontiac in which I had to pull the front tire off and then get to the plugs by going over the A frame. Doesn't mean it will work on your Grand Prix but you might try it.
