Suzuki Grand Vitara Oil Filter Replacement Disaster

While trying to replace the oil filter in my Suzuki Grand Vitara (2007) I have punctured the small metallic box shaped object next to the where the oil filter goes and now oil is leaking everywhere when the engine is switched on. Is there a way I can fix this?

Please reply.

Four or six cylinder engine and behind or front of the oil filter? Looked under my GV 2007 2.7 V6 and can not locate a shiny metal box next to the oil filter. Only thing that was shiny was the exhaust manifold and oil sump which are quite hard to break or puncture. If it was the oil sump you will have to remove it and get it welded as a bog will not hold on heated engine parts.

I have a Suzuki Grand vitara 2007/2008 petrol 5 door model requireing a 3 year service can you let me have any details of the work I should be carring out. Suzuki have quoted me £260 and I'm not sure...

The price seems to cover change of oil - filter - check of brakes etc. If Suzuki has done the work - you can rely on the service done.
If I were you I would ask Suzuki what has been done.

How do i remove the oil filter on my 2007 ddis

You can use an oil filter wrench or get a rubber handled wrench that you can open jar lids with and use that instead to turn counter-clockwise to remove. If stuck, jam a screwdriver through it and turn it.

Engine oil filter extremly difficult to replace on my 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara Diesel as acess to it is very much obstructed by other engine components. Any tips to make the job easier would be greatly...

There are several different styles of oil filter wrenches other than the band-tightening type that requires a lot of lateral clearance. One works like a large socket and grips the filter on the top and accepts a ratchet or extension. See what they have at the local parts store. As an ultimate solution, go to the dealer and ask to see the needed wrench and then go shopping.

Which kind of engine oil used for grand vitara 2005 and when it should be replaced?

Your Suzuki requires 5w30 oil. I recommend you change the oil every 3k miles, although you can go a bit more than that if you want to. Always change the filter at the same time.

Oil change

underneath the engine at the lowest point there is a bolt about 17mm undo drain oil then put 17mm plug in fill the new filter with new oil before screwing back on and place oil around rubber ring on new filter so it seals properly fill with oil to low point on dipstick start car check oil filter for leaks turn car off let oil settle and check level again too much oil in a motor will cause problems so dont over fill hope this helps glenn...........
