Question about 1995 Jeep Cherokee

1 Answer

Motor Mounts? My 95 jeep cherokee has had problems with the motor mounts before, according to the previous owner. Now its been driving differently, like the engine is driving sluggishly. Everything seems to be in order, the oil has been regularly changed, and all the other maintenance is well taken care off. Also the water pump was recently changed. The city I live in has a lot of potholes. Would that cause the problem?

The motor moun ts will not cause it to drive sluggish. Check your fuel filter and might be time for a tune up

Motor mounts

I wouldnt recommend swapping motors on different models, even if they appear to fit properly. It will always create some king of complication along the way, even if it appears to run smoothly initially.
I dont think they make cross over mounts for older models. You may have to get one fabricated. But you can try various mechanics in your town, who may have one.

Hope that helps. If you found my answer satisfactory, kindly take a moment to "Accept" my solution.

Check your motor mounts on the sides of the engine. Make sure the mount brackets on the engine block are still in place.

Can I swap a 94 jeep grand cherokee laredo 5.2l engine and transmission into a 95 cherokee sport

You probably could with a lot of work. The Cherokee Sport has the 4.0l engine and since it is a 95, it may or may not be an OBD2 computer system where as the 94 will not be. Plus you are going to a much bigger engine. The computers will have to be changed and I am sure you will have to do a lot of fabrication with the motor and transmission mounts among other things. It can be done, but it would be a ton of work!!!!

I HAVE A 98 HONDA ACCORD. THE CAR SHAKES WHEN I START THE ENGINE AND AT A STOP SIGN. ON THE HIGH WAY THERE NO PROBLEM. WHY ? THANKS

If a motor mounts is wore you will feal vibration from the engine. To check the rear mount check the rubber coated washer on the top of motor mount. The washer should be ubder the flange around the mount's upper edge. The front mount just power brake it while in drive and watch for the engine to jump.

Took my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo to the shop because it has been dying on me while driving also its been rumbling now i got it today they said they changed some parts but now its worst they took...

It has this problem at Idle? If this problem is while the vehicle is moving but not at Idle or when you rev the motor check your A frame, Connecting Rods, Tie Rods and Ball joints. You also want to check to loose lug nuts or a bent rim. If it occurs when it sits at idle check the motor mounts and bushings and the transmission mounts and bushings.
