Mine has no power and vibrates when it runs. The turbo has been out and the abs brake light has been on since I bought it. I am more concerned with the check engine light and the no power and hesitation that it does like it wants to cut off when at a stop. Please help!

For sure this problem is caused by the coil module - also called a ignition control unit or module. It is underneath the air filter housing cover (not the housing itself). You can follow the electrical wires back from the coils to it - located on the passager side.

How to fix diagnostic code for 1999 vw passat po304 po305 po306

Hi. You have misfires on cylinders 4, 5 and 6. If there are no faults on cylinder 1, 2 and 3 then I would check the power to the left bank injectors. Also check spark plugs and ht leads. If there are running issues then this should be an easy fix. If the faults are very intermitant then it can be a bit tricky to isolate.

98 passat # 2 missfire help

If your getting a P0302 ( cylinder #2 misfire detected), the first thing to check is the spark plug. If it's new then the next thing to check is the plug wire. If it has individual coils, then swap it out with another one and see if the misfire moves too. If so then the coil is faulty.

I have a p0303 trouble code on my 1999 Passat. Missfire on #3 cylinder. Coil is ok, I'm lost.

coil packs very prone to failing... check compression for good readings (at least 100 - 120psi) if okay try new spark plug as these can fail under load and its the cheapest part to replace to eliminate. if misfire still present swap cylinder 3 coil with cylinder 1 coil and see if fault code moves to cylinder 1. hope this advice helps

I have a 1999 VW Passat 1.8l turbo. It has codes P0300 and others

They may not be firing. I would check spark from coils. You may have a bad coil pack. Do check for any vacuum lines. You can go to autzone.com and register for full free online repair manual

99 vw passat, when running, MIL lite, on car vibrates- shakes

no flashing light and rough shaking will be part of spark plug but also a very bad miss fire. I am going to guess that your engine is a 1.8t if so you have 4 coils that sit on top of your spark plugs that most likely are arcing you will need to figure out which coil is failing or you can save yourself the trouble and replace all 4 and the spark plugs. before you do that though check your wireing going to your coils look for broken wires or the ground that is next to the #1 coil that is the one closest to the front of the motor and you. hope that helps. that will be the start to fixing your issue also when you pull out the spark plug look down the hole first and make sure that there is not oil in the bottom of the hole if that is the case you will need a valve cover gasket as well. good luck hope that helps

1999 passat 1/8 liter tub

it could be... or if you used the same spark plug wire to run the test it could be a bad wire.
