Electrical Problem 1997 3000GT Base Model

What a great, thorough description! Other than random, total battery drain I don't see a failure history including any blown fuses or parts replacement. I did not find any factory service bulletins pertaining to the symptom. If the problem is a short circuit, it would have to be pretty serious to drain the battery. Have you eliminated a failing starter as a suspect? How about cruise control? Some automobiles can kill a battery if certain things are left on after shutdown, such as defrosters or other things that draw a lot of current normally.

1998 Mitsubishi 3000GT starts, but the engine dies after anywhere from 5 to 60 seconds

You need to run an OBD2 fault code test with a code reader, that is the number one thing that must be done since this engine is computer controlled.

1999 Honda Accord randomly shuts down while driving

The ignitor in the distributor needs changed. This little guy can cause massive headaches. They work intermittently, but once warm, they knock the ignition spark off.

Hope this helps, vote if you think so thanks.

Fork engaging slave cylinder from tranny. (91 3000GT, mitsu)

Called a clutch fork Holds the thrust bearing right? and goes through the clutch (Bell) housing Got to be careful here or Is it the rod that goes directly into the slave cylinder? Either way as long as the rest of the cars ok it's worth keeping If it's the clutch fork you going to have to remove gearbox (Not the end of the world) Part won't be that expensive

I have a 3000GT VR4 from 1997. A month ago I had almost no oil in the car, way before due oil change. Yesterday, white smoke was coming out of the exhaust. One mechanic told me last week that I need a...

Hi Maria,

Does the white smoke occur at start up then go away?
Was it cooler out the night before the white smoke started?

Likely it's condensation burning off.

To be on the safe side have a compression test run on all cylinders. It's a quick, easy and cheap way to find out if the head gasket is ok.

Also, I strongly advise you to get some second or third opinions for the remaining symptoms. Something smells fishy. I'm sure you know what I mean.

If you comment back or repost, I will do my best to help you out.

Best regards
Mike

Yellow check engine light on after having oil change and splash guard tied back on

Could be a number of things. Should still be under 3/36000 warranty. Take it to the dealership. If the place you got your oil change from used the wrong weight oil, this could cause the light to come on. There are thousands of possibilities, which is why you need a computer to check them now.

http://stealth316.com/misc/stim.pdf is the 91 manual. there's four lines that go to the rear steerng so you may have gotten things crossed.
Here's a thread about AWS Delete. you will also have to replace mechanical parts other wise your rear wheels will steer randomly on their own.
