One of the front wheel bearings is bad and you will need to replace the entire hub assembly. Also, you will need a 30mm axle nut to remove the hub off from the shaft.

30mm fits well enough. rent a 30mm deep well socket for free from advance auto if you have one nearby. remove caliper. remove (3) 15mm nuts to free the bearing assembly. gently hammer the axle inward and not so gently hammer the hub/bearing free. solved my girlfriend's loud humming 2004 ion. the bad bearing was the one that made more noise when we unloaded it (turn the car in the direction of the bad bearing)

*easier to remove the 15mm nuts if you can turn the wheel to get better access

Im hearig a loud humming sound once i reach about 30-45 miles.i dont hear it once i get to 60. i still hear the humming sound even when i am not hitting the gas..what could this be?

usaly its cupped tires, This stems from not having tires rotated, Certain vehicals are also known for wheel bearing failure, This also causes same noise

Have you changed the fuel filter? I know it sounds weird but a plugged filter will make a truck use more gas. The computer tries to compensate for less fuel by commanding the injectors to open longer. Also a plugged filter will cause excess back pressure on the fuel pump making it loud.. Good Luck.

The one thing you did not mention that I needed to do to remove the Hum was 4 wheel alignment. Smooth and quiet now. Hope that helps and have a great day.

if you have a bluetooth phone paired to the vehicle, try deleting all bluetooth devices. Sometimes a battery reset can cause bluetooth synchronizing issues.
