Wondering Battery?

I just started having issues with my car not turning over really well. It is trying to turn over put sounds like it just does not have enouph power to do so. Could this be a battery or Spark plug issue or is there something else that I need to get checked out.

It could be a battery issue, or a starter issue.

you can check if it is the starter by jump starting your vehicle. if it start, then the starter is ok. if it does not start even with a good battery, then the starter is at fault.

Truck wont start

Starter fluid won't work if the starter won't turn the engine over.

Get the battery load tested...it may not have enough juice to start the truck but have enough to light up the lights

check your fuses and battery connections at the starter. Is the anti theft light flashing? If it is that's your problem. Wait 10 minutes insert the key...wait for the theft light to go out before trying to start.

if that doesn't work you will need to get the starter checked...which means you will have to take it off.

Lincoln continental battery keeps dying

the altinator should be putting out at least 14 volts,so have it checked out,and if its dead after an hour or so,it sounds like the diode,s gone,so the problem does seem to be the altinator.

2005 FORD EXPLORER DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES 9318, 9352. battery, alternator and starter were checked. these codes show on my message center. car hesitates to start WHAT IS MY POSSSIBLE TROUBLE? car died...

This really sounds like a problem with your battery. I know you said you checked it, but is it really putting out the appropriate voltage (12.66 volts) and CCAs? Even draining the battery once can damage it (especially in cold weather), and cold weather reduces the CCAs a battery can put out. A weak battery can cause those codes. When the vehicle hesitates to start, does that typically happen on colder mornings or after the car sat for longer periods of time? I would double-check your battery. If it's the original, it's near its end of life anyway.

I put the key in the ignition and turn it forward to just before it turns over you know when the dash lights come on. i do that then when i try to turn it over all that happens is it clicks then my lights...

Suspect the positive battery terminal is either corroded, or the cable itself has corroded through. If you have a meter or test light, look for voltage at the starter solenoid where the positive battery cable connects to. Have someone try the starter while watching this point. If the voltage disappears during the start attempt, try replacing the positive battery cable. There are replacement ends available (for the battery end), but they are problematic at best. Just remove the old terminal, cut the insulation back somewhat, and mount the replacement on the cable (two small bolts). Hope this helps!

Aurora won't turn over

If the security light comes on when you try to start it, you may need to wait three minutes to try to start it again. If the "computer chip" in the ignition key was not making good contact in the steering column when it was inserted. If the "security" light comes on after you initially try to start it, then wait three minutes, and try it again when the light goes off, if this is the problem. It happens occasionally with my piece of ---- Aurora. It may need to have a new key programmed.
