I have had a re-occuring problem with my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It happens in all kinds of weather. Morning, afternoon, doesn't matter. I had all kinds of things replaced. Nothing worked. I finally had the fuel injectors cleaned, and bought this goo out gas additive. That is the only thing that has made a difference. I quit using the goo out, and the problem came back. So, I just buy bottles of this goo out and add it every time I buy gas, and it dosen't happen much anymore. It is some additive that says it cleans the inside of the engine. Hope this works for some people out there.

Hi the condition you describe sounds like it could be the ecu s coolant temp sensor which is common but the second lady discribes something a little different if fuel injector additive you put in the tank clears the problem the it re-occurs then you would need to flush the fuel tank and change the fuel filter refill and then put the injector additive in to clear the lines and injectors and if you run your tank low then the pump picks all the **** up off the bottom of your tank don,t run the vechicle low on gas why i would check the sensor first is after 10-15 mins is when the sensors kick in yates210456

Jeep starts and runs fine for about 15 min. Dies after warmig up. After letting it sit will start back up fine. When you let it idel it will slowly die

Sounds like your MAF sensor. (mass air flow sensor). Located on your air inlet on top of the engine. Go to your dealer buy one and install or replace it yourself.

you can also start with the cheapest try.....change your gas filter and clean your throttle body with "throttle body cleaner". Or if you prefer get the dealer to do it....about a $60 bill.

Jeep was overheating, Now leaking transmision fluid and won't start

I don't see how leaking transmission fluid would be connected to the engine overheating, unless the radiator blew up.
You'll need to figure out why it won't start to proceed.
Check for spark and fuel pressure, and of course compression.
Is the check engine light on ?

Will be driving along and the RPM's drop and it dies. Will not start, turns over but does not start. If it sits for 20 min or so it will start and run for just a bit then die again. I had the fuel pump...

ignition module is a more likely culprit. its called heat saturation. once it cools for a spell it works again. the other possibility is the crank position sensor. happy holidays

this sounds like crankshaft position sensor, my Cherokee was ding same thing it ended up being crank shaft position sensor. this part costs about $50 and is easy to install.
