It appears the engine jumped 1 tooth out of time . it now starts and runs fine but the check engine light wont come on and the cpu is telling the light to come on .i think i am gonna just drive the civic and keep an eye on the gauges . what do you think ?

hi unusall but lets start one at a time firstly the mil light[engine] for the codes is a seperate circuit than the ignition so it doesn,t mean no codes have been stored so you need to connect the fault code reader see what it brings up to fix the mil light the bulb is controlled by the ecu by sending a ground signal to it so the lamp is constantly live with the ignition on the live is fused so check your fuses if they are ok you need to get to the lights bulb check for a live and a ground when you turn ignition on if they ok then replace the bulb if no earth is being received by the bulb check the wirrings contunuity from the bulb to the ecu if its ok you need to test the ecu which is a long proceedure right if no codes are in the ecu then connect the engines crank position sensor turn the engine over and see if there is a spark if not you need to check the distrubuters got a live feed and its coil and ignition control module let me know how you go on and what the results of the tests are if you still have problems yates210456
