I was wondering about the four wheel drive on a 2006 h3 hummer. i dont really know how to work it and tell if it is on or not. there are three buttons around the stereo saying 4x4. Is it off when there is a light on the button with a 4 and an arrow ?

Could be in 4x4. Also does it have a limited slip front axle? If it bucks and pops like its in 4wd, could be a problem there. Could also be a problem with one of the drive shafts going out to the wheels. Hope that helps. Oil change in the front diff will tell you a lot more, and relitavily cheap.
special tools you need EN 48543 FAN CLUTCH HOLDING TOOL. J41240 FAN CLUTCH REMOVER AND INSTALLER. TORQUE FOR FAN CLUTCH NUT 41 LB FT. FOUR BOLTS TO FAN BLADE TORQUE 20 LB FT.WATER PUMP BOLTS TORQUE TO 11 LB FT. DONT NEED SPECIAL TOOLS REMOVE WATER PUMP.
Check the fuses of the lo and hi 4 wheel drive or disconnect the terminals put them together for ten minutes and reconnect and start and see what happens

My 2006 Hummer H3 is not coming out of lock position. Indicator light says its in the normal 4 wheel drive but it doesn't feel like that when i am making a hard turn. I tried driving in reverse as well as letting it sit in the garage overnight. What is prob?
