My 90 Celica will start, will rev up fine, will go in reverse fine...but....try to go forward and it spits, sputters, and dies. I have not noticed any wire burning. I will have to check that out.
I have heard that there is a Transmission Lock on or around the torque converter in the Transmission. I don't know what the purpose is of it, nor how to unlock it?
Any idea's as to what the problem could be?

1990 toyota celica gts 2200 motor vibration when idled up

You may want to check your motor mounts. If the mounts are broken or just too old they will cause the engine to have excessive vibration your notice also when shifting to drive or reverse it will feel like the vehicle jumps. replacing the mounts will help if they are damaged or may be that the vehicle needs a tune up.

Whats the max amount of miles you can drive on a 1990 toyota celica gts with the first engine?

If well maintained and with regular service this engine can last up to 150,000 miles. Remember, this means changing all fluids regularly, changing the hoses and belts regularly and just keeping the engine in tip top condition. No racing, no over revving, etc.

I have a 1990 toyota celica gts 2200 motor I have changed the wiring harness caujse it was burnt and after replacing it wouldn't idle so we replaced the computer still the same so replaced the tbi and...

If you replaced the whole engine wire harness, make sure all connectors are hooked up , if they ok ,check MAP sensor and temp. sensor .it might be your problem. If possible swap them with known good used ones, or just try to disconnect it and see if it runs any better.

1990 Toyota Celica will not start.

Sounds like the connection from the battery to the chassis ground is bad. Try replacing the Negative battery wire and make sure where it attaches to the frame is as rust free as possible

I was putting in a new radio in a celica gts 2002 and one of the hot wires grounded accidentally causing a popping noise on the passenger side area. car would not start

You most likely just popped a fuse. The fuse box is to the right side of the center console just about where the passengers knee would contact when going around a corner . Just remove the panel and look for oe or more popped fuses.
