Hyundai accent 2002 - car just stops

My car just stops while I'm driving. It will start up again in a few minutes but then dies in less than a mile. It's done this several times - we changed the fuel filter & it didn't help. None of the engine lights stay on.We took it to a garage & they put it on the machine but it didn't show any problems. Any suggetions?

None of the engine lights stay on? is this after it dies ?
if the vehicalhas a loss of power befor it dies I would check the fuel pump for a good fuel pressure also check the exhaust presure it could be plugged or restricted

After driving at 35 to 45 per mile for 15 to 20 miles the car hesitating, jerking and stop it will start again by permiting it to sit a few minutes

Sounds like a gas tank full of crud. Check gas filter to see if it is dirty. Also water in gas will clog gas tank filter then when car stops water will disburse and collect when engine starts again.

The powertrain is still under warranty. Call the nearest Hyundai Service Department & look into it. There's a good possibility you can get this problem diagnosed & repaired under warranty.

I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent 1.6L. While driving it wil die, there is no spark but all the fuel pressure is fine. After it cools down it starts and drives for about 5-10 miles then dies again.

This sounds to me like an intermittent crankshaft sensor problem. Did your CHECK ENGINE light come on? Crankshaft sensors sometimes flicker this way before they completely die, sometimes they don't. I think you may have a flickerer. Have the code checked at your local Advanced Auto or Auto Zone. The part is only about $30.00. GOOD LUCK.

Take it to "Autozone" and have them scan the system, this will give you an idea, of whats needed and where to start looking. This service is allways free, and worth its weight in gold.

My 1999 Hyundai Accent stalls. After few minutes of driving, the car stops and after 15 minutes it re-starts. What is the problem?

When your driving say about 20 or 30 minutes, the car, no matter what, just dies. If the engine cools down, it will start and run just fine, for about another 20 or so minutes, and same thing? Change the coil. its bad, it over heats, and pow. when it cools, works great. Had that happen to me. hope this is the problem

If I understand you correctly, you have a bad TPS (throttle position sensor). nothing more. Replace the TPS... the oil cap has nothing in common with the TPS... that's a fact!
