Thanks for trying but thought this would be the case;( On a few other players I have had in older cars there's been a soft release option where you stuck in an unfolded paperclip but hey you can't have a solution every time but will stop trying to locate one now!

    Cheers for the info;)

No way to soft release. your cd player is probably shot, that's why it wont' release the cd. you have to manualy force it to release the cd by either just pulling the cd out with some type pliers or taking the entire thing apart. eihter way it's a gonner. get a new one.

should be a little single wire connected to the air filter box. located on the clean side of the air filter. if not it will be between the air filter box and the throttle plate usually located on the air duct hose going from the air filter box to the throttle plate.

Unable to remove rear brake pads on Volvo V40 2001

Rear pistons need to be rotated anti clockwise when pushed in.
There is a special tool to do this with, but you could try rotating it with a vice when pushing them in.

This is a verry common procedure for cars with rear disk breaks.
Otherwise the handbrake would not work it they could push themselves in.

Have fun

200 volvo v40

These Central Electronics Units(CEMs) are available from used car parts dealers. You need to note all the numbers on your unit(from the label on top). You don't have to completely remove the unit to see these, just remove the trim. You run a risk of course because you will get very little in the way of warranty but it's a whole lot cheaper than paying through the nose for a 'genuine' Volvo spare.

Best wishes
