1991 Audi 90 Quattro

Any ideas where i can get a cv axle for less than 895.06 from the dealer... it seems every other part store is "out of them"... kinda makes me wonder how people with "classic" cars get the things they need to keep them up and running HA HA!!! any help is greatly appreciated!

Yep - I've had great luck with - I ordered axles for my 99 A4 from them for $100 each. Shipping was cheap too (although they're in Albany NY, only two hours from me), but they were great. Get their number from the site and call them up.

Ah jeez, OK. Have you checked out Or ECS Tuning ( or PureMotorsports ( Those are all companies I've dealt with before on the a4 and they're great. I don't know if they deal with your car or not, but if not they may be able to help you out. As a last resort, or maybe next resort, you could check eBay - you can often find hard-to-get stuff there that others don't market on a normal basis.

If they sell the joint ends, then yes they are intended to be rebuilt. You can have that done by most mechanics, or if you have a shop local to you that specializes in driveshafts, that'd probably be even better. Many truckstops have guys that deal with that sort of thing and have a lot of experience with it - chances are they could do it for you very well. It's worth checking out for sure, since the cost of the new axles is murderous through Audi. Hope you can find something - good luck with it!

i would check the throttle butterfly for a carbon build up that may keep it from closing completely. have seen this cause stalling when returning to idle rpm. Best to try to remove and clean from both sides to get good results.this is just one of many possible problems. Hope it helps if so please let me know with a reply and good luck

Try changing the fuel filter, first. If that does not work try replacing the pump. Also make sure you run 91 or higher octane.
