The heater core runs with antifreeze, what is coming out is more like water condensation. AC does not running.

My Isuzu kb 2.2 petrol engine leaks water from the dashboard, what could be wrong?

Either it is water from the AC evaporator, the heater core is leaking, or one of the hoses to it is leaking. If the water is cold to the touch and the ac is on then it is condensate - could be that the tube that leads the condensate down and away from car is clogged and the water backs up and spills over the collecting tray.

My 2003 dodge grand caravan is leaking water from a line about under the passenger side. Radiator is low. I can see water leaking.

that water could be the condensation line,, if you have had your AC on, water will leak from along the firewall on the passenger side, where the tube runs out of the vehicle. Your radiator could have been low to begin with and when you saw the water leak,, you though that was it. check the puddle,, is it clear water or does it have antifreeze in it? If its clear water chances are , that its just the drip line from your AC, if it does contain antifreeze , check the 2 water hoses that run into the heater core , you can also see where they go into the cab portion of the van, from under the hood,

We bought a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix. Its leaking water on the pasenger side by where the air conditiong tubs are. Heating core was replaced about 3 months ago(bought from freind for daughter) Its not...

"Water" there is usually condensation from the AC unit. There is a drain line that runs down under the car in that same area. It is probably clogged with dirt and dust for the heater/ac system. Probably the easiest way to open it is to find the end under the car. Its about a 3/8 inch I.D. hose. Use a turkey baster and back flush it with water. If that doesn't work us a flexible wire and gently run it up the hose with the AC running. You should be able to loosen the clog and get water flowing our of the hose.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Passenger side leaking water onto floor, maybe coming from ac. how can I fix the problem?

Hello per_req.
If it is indeed the AC condensation it is most likely a plugged evaporator drain.
This drain usually consists of a rubber hose, sometimes with a crimp on the end to prevent wind, bugs and debris from entering from below but allowing water out.
It is located on the lower part of the outside firewall below the heater case.
You will need to go under the vehicle to access it.
Try using a pipe cleaner up the tube to dislodge the debris.
Also make sure it is water as it could also be antifreeze running out of the heater core.

Heater core

If anti-freeze is actually coming out of the drain tube then yes, you could very well have a bad heater core. You may also be able to smell antifreeze while inside the vehicle if it is leaking. [Its a kind of sickly sweet smell] If just clear water is dripping out then this is most likely from normal condensation that is collecting and dripping off of the air conditioning evaporator core as the air conditioner runs. This condensation collects in the heater, a/c housing then drips out of the same little drain. Water from normal condensation will evaporate off of cement or pavement pretty quickly but antifreeze takes quite a while to evaporate away and feels slimy to the touch. It doesn't take much of an antifreeze leak before the cooling system gets low on so make sure you don't run low on coolant which can cause the engine to overheat.

I have a 99 jeep grand cherokee with water flowing from a what looks like a drain from the heater core area. the floor isnt wet and the heater works could the heat core have a crack

Is water coming out or is it antifreeze? If its antifreeze you have a heater core leaking. If its water than it's normal. The air conditioner is also a dehumidifier, and that is where the condensation comes out.

Water leak right next to inlet hoses for heater core . could there be a drain hole there

Yes, they typicaly about the same size as a pen. Make sure that it is just water comming out, and not coolant. If water, this is normall from condinsation, if coolant, you will need to change the heater core.

Bad leak from little 2 inch L shaped hose next to lower firewall

its either the hose,or the heater core.
the core can crack where the pipes meet the core and
if you can smell antifreeze in the car and the windshield fogs,it is the core....the hose can also crack on the inside of the firewall and get misdiagnosed as a heater core.
big job,the dash has to come out

Leaking water from front passenger side, under dashboard

It is either condensation water from the A/C unit that should go out a drain tube to the outside (only if A/C or Defrost is on) or a leaky heater core. If it is a heater core you can usually smell a coolant smell and the water will be warm and your windows will fog up inside. Heater core is more common. Joe ASE Master Tech
