Question about 1991 Honda Accord
When driving the transmission skips 3rd gear , the S light flashes when that happens.
There is a common problem with these transmissions. Mine has the same problem. The most common explanation involves the ECU, which involves the actual electronic control of the shift pattern. A new one is 187 bucks, but I'm going to try my luck at a pull-it-yourself junk yard. Replacing this will be A LOT easier and cheaper than a whole transmission replace job. Hopefully the car I pull it off of isn't in there for the same problem. Also, try disconnecting your battery for about 15 seconds, then reconnect it. This kinda sorta sometimes might possibly have a chance of maybe almost temporarily fixing the problem, for a minute or so, or less. Hope this might almost kinda sorta help fix your car.

The gear slips at 3rd gear. The S light shows that there is some problem, if you have the diagnostic tool you can know exactly what the problem is. You may want to flush the transmission fluid and fill-in the new one. That's the cheapest try n error, if it doesn't work then the best thing to do is to replace the whole transmission with reconditioned set.
