VW Golf 2007 1.9TDI, I was recently in a accident approx 20mph, and crashed head on into a turning car. What is making the kinda rattling/clicking noise, more noticeable during gear changes.

This could be almost anything from loose trim to broken body parts, you should get the car checked by bodyshop to make sure that it is safe to drive

Hello there. I've recently bought a 54reg mk5 golf 2.0 gt fsi and the engine is making a tapping noise - even when it's been running. Is this normal?

a light tapping noise is quiet normal .Use a flushing oil before you change the oil and filter.then use 10/40 semi synthetic(as recc by VW)when engines at operating temp run at 3500 fo 30 secs, this will "charge" the hydraulic tappets,a cold engine has a valve rattle for about 15/20 secs but if longer then cam followers faulty.normally at 120,000m(roughly)
please leave feedback..

Loud clicking noise whenstarting vw golf 1998

it could be noisy lifters... do you have clean oil in there oil is it black.

dirty oil will make volkwagens make lots of engine noise.

it also could be a spark arcing to metal. check to see all your spark plug wires are pushed all the way down and dont have cracks in them.

'96 VW Golf GL with 2.0 motor. Cold start knock

It sounds like the hydraulic lifters are bleeding down after sitting for a while... there are ball checks which are supposed to prevent this... Try using a good engine flush (a product that frees sticky lifters) and replace the oil with a good synthetic... Hope this helps...;-)

Vw golf 1.6 rolling stones car is judering as if its being staved of fuel mainley when cold, what is it

for the sake of cheap expense could be worth renewing the engine management coolant temp sensor as could be faulty and not telling computer more fuel needed when cold or if have means of a multimeter being handy then check resistance between pins 1 and 3 and measure resistance readings should be approx at a temperature of 10.c between 3350 to 4400 ohms at 20.c between 2250 to 3000 ohms and at 30.c between 1500 to 2100 ohms. Also check resistance of intake air temp sensor between pins 1 and 2 and should read similar to the figures above at them temps too. Hope this helps.
