When I turn on the air conditioner or the heat, I can hear a noise that sounds like its coming from under the dashboard. It sounds like water bubbling. And slowly stops when I shut off the air or heat.

I added antifreeze this morning about 14oz.

how many miles??? could need a water pump check for leaks the cooling system should not be low.

some cars have a plastic pump tey tend to break. at idle the car will get hot but when driving air flows thu the radiator keeping it cool. if the thermostat was bad it would overheat all the time. as for the bubble under the dash this is due to low coolant.

Hi Wade, Check the needle and seat in your carby, You need to pull your carby off and unscrew the bottom half from the top, 1st sign of a needle stuck inside the seat is a dry carby There you'll find the float, push the float up and down and see if the needle above the float slides up and down from the seat, If the needle stays up then it's stuck and NOT letting the fuel into the carby, Just pull it down with your fingers to loosen it up... I hope this helps....

My 1996 grand marquis keep overheating

there are several problem that will give this indication and your information is not comprehensive enough to make a good diagnosis
the time factor is critical as some time could be 5 minutes to 5 hours and driving is too loose as it could be at highway speeds or stop go traffic , hill work or under load
so I will give to certain conditions that will over heat the car or cause a rise in operating temperature
head gasket--check with compression test
low water level-- check at cap
faulty radiator cap--have tested
partially blocked radiator--have a flow test done
fins on cores falling off --replace radiator
overheating transmission oil--check the transmission is fully operational as high speed with out over drive in will cause a rise in temp
if in traffic --check viscous fan and fan operation if electric
if under load -check load and tyre pressures
check for brake operation- adjust hand brake to full off
run the fault codes to check air/fuel ratios and timing
check for failed cat converter-- blocked exhaust system

Idols fast, when holding brake idols up and down up/down ...when lets off brake it quits...i checked throttle sensor replace it still the same

I'd look for a vacuum leak, possibly the large hose that goes to the brake booster-use a can of throttle body cleaner and spray around hose areas while engine is running and listen of drops in idle-there's your leak.

Brake light comes while braking with no apparent cause

The pulsating sounds like rotors warped from overheating. As far as light goes, may be float or sensor at master cylinder faulty & making light trip.

it all depends on your driving conditions if you have a lot of stop and go traffic everyday you will wear them out alot faster than highway travel. generally a good set of brakes especially original brakes should last about 50,000 miles if not driven to hard or under extreme conditions, most rotors can be machined atleast once before having to be replaced with new ones unless your vehicle runs composite rotors they will have to be replaced everytime you have new pads installed.
