Question about 2000 Ford Focus
i have a ford focus 1.8 zetec t reg since i have had the car it has been over revving when changing gear but as its my wifes car i had'nt realised how bad it had got its been like this for a couple of years but while driving it the weekend when i was trying to accelerate the car was really over revving as if the clutch was slipping but i have been told that on the focus there is a box which contains some kind of valve which can get really dirty and effect the car i have tried the sensor but it wasnt that so plaese could you tell me if this box exists before i go spending on a new clutch

YES MATE THERE IS SUCH A THING ITS CALLED THE EGR VALVE .all it supposed to do is pick the revs up when you are using more electrical power rear heated sreen etc dont bother clean it easier to change it or it will re occur
