How to Change Car Attenna on Honda Accord LXI

I need to replace the radio attenna on a 1998 Honda Accord LXI. I removed the two screws and try pulling. It barely moves. I understand the radio must be turned on which I have not tried. What is the procedure for removing the old attenna and then adding a new one?

The antenna comes out from under the finder panel , in the trunk there is a carpeted insert, that needs to be removed in order to access the antenna motor, you can take it out from there. it is easier with the radio off. that way the antenna is in the down position.

OH OKAY SORRY ABOUT THAT, THE ANTENNA MAST OPERATES ON A PLASTIC CABLE WITH TEETH ON IT. WHAT
HAPPENS IS THE TEETH WEAR OUT OR THE CABLE BREAKS. TO REMOVE THE OLD
CABLE REMOVE THE NUT ON TOP AND TURN RADIO ON AND PULL OUT THE OLD
CABLE. TO REPLACE THE NEW ONE STICK THE CABLE IN THE HOLE, TURN THE
RADIO OFF AND THE MOTOR WILL PULL THE CABLE AND ANTENNA IN AND DOWN AND
REPLACE THE NUT. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL OF THE OLD CABLE OUT. IF NOT
YOU CAN ACCESS ANY BROKEN OFF PIECES BY REMOVING THE COVER PLATE ON THE
SIDE OF THE ANTENNA MOTOR. I HOPE THIS INFORMATION HELPS

I have a 1995 toyota camry and my electric attenna broke when going through the car wash as it dosn't go down when car is off and has to be done manually. I want to switch to a manual attenna and remove...

If you want to put a manual antenna in the same position, it is quite an easy job. The original one is held on to the body with a nut at the base of the aerial. Undo that and there is often a bolt holding the motor in place as well. Remove the power cable and disconnect the aerial lead. You can now pull the old unit out. The new one slips in using the same hole. Before you assemble it, make sure tha body around the hole is clean and rust free, or you will have poor reception. Reconnect the aerial lead and tighten the nut and the job is done.

Honda accord lxi 89

yes it is most likely the crankshaft seal or the camshaft seal the only way to make sure is to pull timing cover using 10 mmm sockets and youll have to remove belts and pulleys using 12mm and 14mm sockets and wrenches and pulley puller also it is not easy but you need to be sure and to replace the seals youll need to remove those anyways. Purchase a repair manual to assist you in this job at local parts store haynes or chiltons will do about $20.00 or so.

2005 Honda Accord headlight replacement.

For the driver's side headlight, yes, the battery must be removed to change the headlight. There are three screws but they don't have to be removed, just loosened enough to where the bulb can rotate ninety degrees to pull out. Be prepared to reenter the radio code as disconnecting the battery will cause the radio to electronically lock out. The radio code can be found on the security card or inside the user's manual if you're lucky.

Radio Code Problem

Can't be sure about a Nigerian Honda but in the USA if this happens:

Try to locate the code. Check your owner's manual or the inside of your glovebox for a sticker. If it is nowhere to be found the only way to get it is to remove the radio and get the serial number from the back of the radio. Tkae that number and your VIN to a Honda dealer. They should be able to get the code for you with this information. They may ask you for your driver's license and registration before doing so.
