Question about 1992 Ford Festiva
I have a 98 Ford Festiva (5 door). I was at the light the other day and when I took off the car revved and did not want to go out of 1st gear. I pulled into the nearest service station (approx 20 metres down the round). When the mechanic had a look my hose to the tranmission had come off and was pouring oil everywhere. He attached the hose and filled it back up with oil. He told me I was fine to drive home but on the way home it kept on reving to around 4000rpm before it would change gear. So I very slowly drove home. Now my car will not go into any gear and the hold light starts to flash when i idle it for about 5 mins. I have checked the oil level and it seems fine. Does this mean my gearbox is broken? Can anyone give me some advice?
Need to rebuild the transmission the bands are burned up most likely
