2002 xjr 100 radio will not power after battery change

Does anyone know if this is a bad fuse or I do need to do something to get the radio power up after I changed the battery on my 2002 XJR 100. I have the code to unlock the radio, but the radio does not even power up

If the battery went dead and you charged it, you need to reboot the system. It has lost them function of radio.
Disconnect both side of the battery and with the battery disconnected, crank the car 3-4 times (This just discharges the computers). Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + first) and you should have a working radio again.

Where is the fuse for the instrument panel on a 2002 Ford Thunderbird?

I'm not sure about the 2002 T-bird, but a 1992 T-bird has a fuse labeled MEM in the box behind the battery on the left side. It's a 5 amp fuse that's for the instrument cluster, the error module memory and the radio.

1997 camry no power to radio

fuses that look bad are.
fuses that look good , can be , in FACT bad.
DMM, (flip to low ohms)
fuse reads 0 ohms, its good
fuse reads infinity its bad.
if fuse is good check for 12 at the radio power wire.
the radio must be ground do work, is it?
some radios have a separate ground wire (black) is it grounded?

I have a 2002 Kia Rio and i have no power what so ever..no lights , no battery power..nothing works..i was driving and the car just shut off..no lights ..no power to anything ..its like the car is...

Sounds like you cooked the main fuse going from the battery to the fuse box. Or something happened to one of the battery cables.
There should be a 75 or 100 amp fuse that powers the main fuse box.

My radio is dead after a battery change, could it be the fuse and i cant tell the smbol on the fuse card if it is

I have exactly the same problem. Just changed battery today on 2002 VW Golf TDI, and the radio is completely dead. Checked the fuse - looks fine. (Fuse 42 incidentally. Fuses are on the side of the driver's dash facing the door ie. only accessible once the door is open). Anyone know why the radio has completely died?

Need to find the fuse for the radio

The fuse you want to check is the F1-17 fuse in the battery junction box. This is the radio fuse.
The number F1-17 fuse is the red/yellow power wire at the radio. If the fuse is good pull the radio and check the red/yellow wire for power in, if you have power in , then suspect a bad radio.

My next step would be to remove the radio and check the power wire going into the radio (red/yellow) . If you have power there, then the radio is likely bad. Ford has had major problems with the radios.

Same problem

Check your fuses for wipers and lights. If good use a volt meter and check power at the fuse. If your wipers, radio and dash lights worked before you changed the nuetral safety switch I would retrace my steps and make sure I didn't leave something disconnected. It happens a lot. Let me know what you find.

Yes, just removed #17 fuse and reinstalled and everything returned. Maybe bad connection, or maybe something was drawing current and that's it's function, (cut power) but it just didn't reset? (Owner's manual lists one function of Circuit #17 as "Battery Saver')

Shorted out CD player? 2002 Venture

The fuse is under the hood--it's a maxi 60 fuse, that controls a few things, so it's easy to change. You have to remove the battery cover(unclip and unscrew the thumb bolt on top). If you figure out how to get the stuck cd out, let me know, I've had one stuck in mine since December--luckily the radio still works.
