Hi brighteyes 92,
i think that you should try the fuel filter, as my two friends have said and if that doesn't help, next is the fuel pump.... with the symptoms your vehicle is exhibiting, I think it's likely to be the latter.

Check the fuel filter if that isnt it it is either the pickup tube or at the wort the fuel pump is shot or it could also be plugged fuel injectors check those too run some chevron techron through it and see if it clears the injectors

What is year--make--model?
How long since a tune-up?
If you think it is fuel issue, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. There are some other tests you could try, but, too much liability, I can't be responsible for your safety.

My Chevy Tahoe has no power and cant get up past 40 mph without starting to lose power, could it be Mass air flow sensor?

Possibly, but it sounds more likely a catalytic converter may need replacing or fuel filter maybe clogged

My 99 tahoe starts fine and runs ok on store runs and very short trips. The problem is when I drive about 20 miles it seems lose power, it won't die. but when I pull over and cut the car off it will start...

have you changed the in-line fuel filter? its on the drivers side under the truck on the inside of the frame approximately under the drivers seat. If you do change it make sure you install the new one pointing in the correct direction. If that dont fix it, its probably the fuel pump going out...It may run but may not be putting out the right psi which should be around 90 psi, and will only get worse, hope this helps you. P.S. Youll have to drop the fuel tank to change the fuel pumpo as its inside the tank, oh yeah there is also a strainer on the fuel pump assembly that sometimes can become clogged. I dont know why they cant put an access door in the cab somewhere over the tank to make changing the pump alot easier lol....good luck

Ford 460 loses power then dies. Starts back up. Idles fine.

It sounds like you might have a clogged catalatic converter on the exhaust system.

replace your MAP sensor(manifold absolute pressure) the map sensor is the computer for your fuel pressure regulator telling how much pressure. Unless your tahoe runs like **** going up hill than it inevitably your fuel pump
