The security system has you locked out...the module or key has gone bad.

I doubt it on something more than 10 yrs old.
You can research the internet for service bulletins or contact customer service at Chrysler.

My car alarm will not reset and the issue with problems below

If you (hopefully) have the key fob (keyless entry remote), try closing the doors, then lock and unlock using the keyless entry. This should reset the security so the vehicle will start.

u have a leaking head gasket, the fan is on because there is air pockets in the cooling system caused by combustion gases leaking in, the rough run is coolant getting into the cylinders.

1998 chry. t&c lxi, runs great but once in awhile when you go to start it , it will start but stall like it ran out of gas it will do this for approx. 3 tries then there is nothing ,turn the key and...

I have a 97 van and same thing is happening. Won't stay running and the next day - starts right up. I just read that the gauge pod/instrument cluster which is basically a module itself needs replaced - it's in the dashboard. After removing the cluster, you will find a couple of pc boards on the back. The pc boards and the solder connections become damaged after years of hot and cold weather. The solder joints will either crack or become loose from the expansion and contraction of hot and cold conditions. You can re-solder all the jointws and carefully reheat each one, or get a used one from a junk yard or auto parts store or dealership. Just take out the old one and plug in the replacement and reinstall the dashboard parts. I have not tried it yet, but I am going to. I have also heard that if you disconnect the battery cables for awhile, which allows the computer to restart, the car will stay running at least for awhile until you can repair it.

Hope this helps.
