Question about 1994 Toyota Pickup

Feul return line

I need to reconnect the return line to the injector rack cause gas is pouring out of it but im not sure which of the fuel lines connect to it. If anyone can help please let me know.

The return line is not the one that comes from the fuel filter.

If you don't have the fitting for the fuel line you can remove the fuel filter and with a gauge a tee peace and some fuel line and clamps check your pressure there should be 9 to 13 psi. The gas pouring into the engine could be from bad O rings on the injectors.

Fuel filter may be clogged, replace. Fuel pump may be failing, replace. Never let your vehicle "run out of gas" as all the residue collected in the bottom of the gas tank, will migrate through the system and create problems.

99 Astro van. This engine has a supply and return line from the injectors. Is it possible to flush the system by plugging the return line and running a can of injector flush through the system myself...


You may further cause problems. I would recommend disconnecting the fuel line at the injectors, and disconnecting the fuel line before the gas tank, making sure there isn't a fuel filter along the way. If there is, then disconnect the fuel line at the filter. Use a compressor and blow air from the injector side, down to the filter end. Make sure you try and keep as much moisture out of the line as possible. You can do this with each segment of fuel line to flush out any particles that may have clogged your lines. Your filter may be your main problem. Try changing that first!

Put new fuel pump in tank of 1994 Jimmy. I can hear the pump run but fuel is not getting to the injectors. Is there different pumps that came fo rthis vehicle?


did you change feul filter? some of these will install backwards and will have no flow.is there enough feul in tank? did you replace or clean sock at bottom of feul pump

Hi it sounds like you have picked up some dirty fuel,
what you need to do now is go to your nearest garage or car spares shop and buy some decent fuel line cleaner, Red X is a good brand to buy, make sure you buy correct type for your engine ie petrol or diesel the follow instructions on the back of the bottle

how ever.
it will say pour this into a full tank of fuel, dont do this pour it into half a tank of fuel doing this makes it work a lot quicker and cleans a lot better once you have poured it in it will take about an hour to clean all the fuel lines and injectors and doing this should turn the warning light off. you could also get the fuel filter changed just to make sure it is not blocked in any way.

the fuel line cleaner will clean the whole fuel line and all the injectors it will make your car run perfect and it increases mpg, its a good idea to use this product every couple of months on vehicles of your age as it keeps them running properly and cuts down and buying spare parts such as injectors due to them being blocked.

have a go with the product and if you have any problems after just give me a shout back ok.

I have a 98 cavalier keep getting the p0171 code and its running really really rich u can smell the gas in the exhaust ive replace tps sensor feul injectors, feul regulator, coolant temp sensor, both o2...


Usually it's the O2 sensor, but the fuel regulator could be stuck in the high output setting for heavy demand. Or the computer could be acting up. if you can, take it to the dealership, and have them test the computer, and the fuel regulator.

#3 CYLINDER IS FULL OF FEUL AND TRUCK WILL NOT START.REMOVED SPARK PLUGS AND GAS POURS ON GROUND WHEN KEY IS TURNED ON FROM #3 CYLINDER PLUG HOLE.


The Vortec engines were notorious for those kind of problems. The problem will be under the upper-intake manifold, and the fuel injector assembly will either have a cracked plastic fuel line running out to one or more of the fuel injectors, or the fuel pressure regulator that is located on the end of the fuel injector assembly is faulty or it has detached from the fuel injector assembly. Either way the lower intake manifold will be flooded with fuel anytime that the fuel pump runs.

There were two types made, the first type had fuel lines that connected to the lower intake manifold, and then from the metal fittings the fuel line turns into plastic and runs inside the lower intake manifold and under the upper-intake manifold where it runs over to the fuel injector assembly, and this type can really flood out an engine when it becomes faulty.

The second type had metal fuel lines running over the upper intake manifold and they connected to the top of the fuel injector assembly, however, under the upper-intake manifold there are still plastic lines to the fuel injectors and also the fuel pressure regulator that could be faulty and cause the engine to severely flood.

The upper-intake manifold is not that difficult to remove, and after you remove the upper-intake manifold then (replace the fuel lines to the fuel injector assembly if it is the second type) turn the ignition to the "Run" position and when the fuel pump runs you should see where the fuel is leaking/spraying from, and it will most likely be a large high pressure leak from a ruptured plastic fuel line.

Changed feul pump feul filter changed computer. Van still shutdow


this could be a number of problems,check the voltage with a volt meter,not a test light at the fuel pump connection. make sure you have 12V,if so unhook the fuel supply line,turn key to ON not START, and make sure the pump will continue to flow,( obviously cqatch the fuel with a pail,or put a hose on it to pump it into a pail,don't let it leak all over the place.)if the pump continues to flow with out shutting off,your pump,filter,and electrical for your pump is ok.it could be a restriction in the return line,or the regulator may not be functioning.un hook the return line as close to engine as possible,install hose on it and route to a pail to catch fuel,with supply line hooked back up,start van and see if it works,if it keepd shutting off,you've now eliminated return line problems.check the regulator.

93 chevy corsica. problem is after startup gas just pours out of the throttle body intake as the car stalls - probably half o cup of gas pours out. Is an injector stuck open? any advice?


Yes, most likely cause is an injector is stuck. The real problem is that you are removing the oil from the upper engine and it's protection with this issue.
Fix it forthwith, and when done, change the oil...it has been diluted by fuel...
