Sounds like anti-theft system problem ! There is a little red light center top of dash pad , When you try to start the vehicle does the light flash fast ? If the vehicle thinks it's being stolen it won't let truck crank over an it turns off the fuel injectors !
It can be as simply as a bad battery. The Antitheft system views a low battery as an attempted theft action. Then the Antitheft cuts cranking voltage to around 7 Volts to prevent the engine from starting.
Battery voltage drops in cold weather. This would explain your problem and the activation of the Antitheft light.
Please rate my info. You might try adding a battery charger for a few minutes before you try starting it and see what effects it has.
Another idea is to turn off the A/C when cranking. The A/C clutch is a big drag on the system AND is temperature controlled to disengage the clutch at lower outside temperatures. If this control is not working, the A/C would not disengage.
You can get the starter tested on the vehicle with a DRAW test. The battery can be tested too. FREE at most big parts stores like Autozone.
try disconnecting the battery negative with the key in the run position..this kills the computer..then shut the key off and reconnect the negative cable, turn the key to run position and listen for the fuel pump to come on 2-3 seconds try to start..repeat this 2-3 times if still an issue.. repost findings
Check engine light blinking, this is indication of error code stored in the Engine control module.its advisable to get vehicle scanned at diagnostic center to retrieve the error code stored.Once the error codes are retrieved, further diagnosis can be done as per error code.
Go to the fuel reset pull the wire from the bottom insert a paper clip into both wires in their little clips and try starting it again. Also look out for the theft light on in the dash if it is lock up the car and unlock it with the fob or the coded door panel for entry if the anti theft is on it has to be disabled. also the cam and crank sensors need checked
When electrical component such as a crank position sensor or even a cam position sensor warms up it develop high resistance. That why if you let is sit that component cools off and resistance becomes low.You have a ignition control problem this stem from ICM (If equipt) to cranksensor to camsensor,
Your vehicle is equipped with a passive theft deterrent system that utilizes a "pill" embedded in your key along with a receiver contained in the steering column. If the system doesn't recognize your key, the vehicle will crank but not start and the theft light will flash rapidly. If you have another key, try it. Otherwise, you're in for a trip to the dealer where they can either reset the system or troubleshoot it further.
have you checked to see if its firing at the plugs. if not you may want to have the control module tested. start there and work back to battery. including any wires to starter and also the crank sensor.
If you are reseting a factory alarm...lock and unlock the drivers door with the key.
If you don't know the code look under the dash driver side in left corner there should be a black cover with a sticker with a code on it 6 numbers that is the factory code.
